Hi there- We normally stay at DL hotel or Paradise Pier but this time we're going to give the new Residence Inn Anaheim Conv Center hotel a shot. Love the idea of getting a suite!

My questions is: Looks like it's on the corner "ish" of Katella and Harbor. Which way do we walk to get to the parks? I wasnt sure if Harbor had an entrance with security etc. I'm used to coming from the onsite hotels and going thru security and then walk thru DTD to get to the turnstiles.

thank you!

We stayed their a few weeks ago, and I was very impressed. There appear to be only two entrances to the park -- either from the "back" through Downtown Disney (and I guess the on-site parks), or directly opposite, in between the parks, on Harbor.

It's about 20 minutes to walk to downtown disney, but only 10-12 minutes to the Harbor entrance (very manageable for us).

We kept "aww shucks" - ing because our room literally overlooked the back of Radiator Springs Racers...

We also have stayed there and it's awesome! It saves us $50/day just in the breakfast. Super annoying you can be RIGHT AT THE PARK but you have to walk all the way around. haha. Agree with PP - walk to Harbor is much faster. We are young active 30s with 3 little kids, and we've always walked with a stroller - 10-15 mins depending on if 5yo walks too. I just found out last week that the toy story lot is right across the street, so if we try to come back for naps on our next trip I may do the shuttle mid-day.

Ok great thank you! If you don't mind me asking, is it worth it to rent a car? I have one for $67 including tax for the 2 nights we are there. I believe it's $18 a night to park, but I'm thinking it's still worth it? Any thoughts?

If we still need to buy tix can we still enter in at the harbor side? I'm assuming yes, but just want to make sure so we don't have to walk all the way back around. Thank you again!

What airport are you flying into? If it's SNA, uber will be $22-30 each way and it would be totally worth it to not deal with renting a car plus the parking costs. LAX is more, so it's a tossup. Even so...unless you're planning on leaving the Disney area I wouldn't. And yes you can buy tickets in the esplanade from the Harbor side.

You do NOT need a car, unless you want to go somewhere besides Disneyland (beach, Hollywood, etc), which you don't really have time for in 2 days. Even if you want to rent a car, don't use it to go to the parks. Walk, take ART, Uber, walk across the street to the Toy Story Lot and take the shuttle, etc. You should read Hydroguy's article on Hidden Time Losses When Using a Car at DLR.

Awesome thanks guys! Flying into SNA so I think we will just Uber.

***Last question, I promise! The breakfast at Residence Inn Anaheim Conv. Center, is it good? Trying to justify a character buffet (it's 1 adult and 3 teenagers going) but if the breakfast is even somewhat decent I will cancel my ADR.

It's a full breakfast. They have all the regular continental breakfast stuff (cereal, muffins, oatmeal) plus waffles, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, usually roasted vegetables/cheese/etc to make omelets, french toast...I'm trying to think of what else. But it's definitely not the same kind of breakfast you'd get at a fairfield inn or whatever, it's definitely filling. FWIW as far as strictly food goes, in my opinion it's about equal to plaza inn, not as much food as goofy's kitchen.

We also stayed here and thought it was a great hotel. The walk can get a bit long after you've done it a few days in a row, but it's perfectly manageable. We just arranged for shuttle service to and from the airport. I thought the breakfast was pretty good for a hotel. Nothing special, but good enough and the price is right. :D
