Would love to try out Vero Beach in a couple of years during the beginning of June. I would have to reserve at the 7 month window since we are not an owner at VB. How hard would it be to reserve a Beach Cottage or a 2 BR as soon as the 7 month window opens up.

Thanks

Be on the phone right at 9am at your 7 month window.

How early in June?

I've never tried in early June, but I have posted before we met some SSR owners that managed to get a 2br for Easter last week, though they did have to WL a good junk of the week(old ressie system).

Looking at early June in the bigger TS world of exchanging, I see a lot of great locations and bigger units that first week of June(like 6/7 to 6/14). A lot of kids are still in school, parents who do get out early don't want to pack up and go a day or so after the kids get out(I'm not one of them).

I'm thinking around the first week of June. I have college kids that get out in May and before they start their summer jobs it would be nice to hit the beach. We've never been to Vero Beach so thought it would be nice to give it a try.
Does any of the 2 BRs have ocean front views?

The cottage is going to be difficult, but as Starr said people have been successful recently. The 2 bedroom is much easier to get.

In a couple years though it might be a different story. With all new resorts like SSR, AKV, BLT, THV - That's a lot of new members, and I think the demand for the beach resorts VB, HHI will increase considerably when the economy gets turned around.

I got a 1 bedroom at VB during July 4th week this summer by calling right at the 7 month point. I have always been able to get what I request if I call right at the 7 month point. I think one of the tricks to DVC is being very organized and on top of your vacation plans.

You are correct!
You should see my calendar in my Blackberry, with dates to call for either my DVC points or my *wood ski week. Never have not gotten the unit, resort or with *wood the week I wanted.

Luckily my 3rd TS is a fixed week, Friday only check in, so I just show up. :dance3:

Thanks, I've been looking for a map of the VB resort, just to see how everything is laid out, would love one of the cottages right on the beach but not sure if I can get another family early June, most our friends will still have kids in school at that time, might just have to try for a 2 BR

I'm the same way, it drives my DH crazy, I'm always planning and figuring out when to reserve our dates, I've already got our Disney pts planned for the next 4 years. Now over time this might chance but I've got an idea in my head when and how I would like to use them.
