I just mailed in the final paperwork for DVC. I have a memebership number that came with the paperwork. Can I call and make the reservations I am looking at know? or do I have to wait for the final ok from DVC?

We are within our window for the dates I am looking at.

Thought I would ask here before calling DVC

Thanks

If you have a member number I'm pretty sure you can go ahead and make a reservation. A reminder that MS is not open on the weekend. You'll have to wait until Monday to call.

As long as you have a member number, you should be able to make your reservations (but you can't borrow or bank points in order to make the reservation--that has to wait until after closing).

Just completed the reservation request online. Will see what happens .. We took the kids on a cruise this month and joined the DVC then. We got this years points .. banked them for next .. and then we will be getting next years in Feb. Tried to talk the wife into staying into a nice 1 BR suite but since we are not taking the kids next year .. ( we are going to disney for our wedding anniversary ) she wants to stay in a studio .. (won't be there much) and save the rest for maybe late 2003 or bank for 2004 and invite family friends to stay with us in a suite .. so I guess we know who is in charge of part of the house

OH Well ..

Don & June, splurge & get the one bedroom! You won't even feel like you are in a hotel room in a one bedroom unit plus you get that wonderful jacuzzi ;) !

Don & June, first of all it sounds like a big
WELCOME HOME! is in order.
Second, I agree with JudithM. Splurge and get the 1 BR. After all, it is your anniversary, and you may spend more time there than you think!;)

Just a reminder that the same policy applies for e-mail. The earliest you'll hear back will be Monday and it could be 48 hours from then. (Lately, I have been receiving same day replies.)

Welcome Home! Did you purchase BCV as your home resort?

yes we did the BCV .. will talk with June when she comes in about upgrading to the one bedroom /:smooth:

Just got word that are Reservations are confirmed for BCV in March 2003 .. Since we did the Disney Magic cruise a couple weeks ago .. were going to bank the 200 we got this year when joining .. and use the points for next .. then bank the remaining if we don't do anything at the end of next year .. :Pinkbounc

Just a note, We had not yet sent our papers back and made reservations. Decided to treat the family and called back and made reservations for 2 more studios using up most of my next years points. They were very helpfull and willing to do what was necessary.
I can't believe how easy it was dealing with the DVC people. We are on a wait list for 2 days thanksgiving week but I am hopeful thing will work out.

Cant wait for next year already .. a few questions .. we do I locate the tickers that I see on other posts that have the clock ticking down??

also .. any feed back or info on the studio rooms .. It will just be myself and June .. She is thinking the difference for the studio and 1 br .. with having to either pay for food .. or eat out .. it would be cheaper and better to stay in the studio .. is it roomy for 2 people .. any feedback on the studios .. ???

If you buy direct from DVC,you usually can make reservations the same day as they receive your deposit. I made my deposit by phone with a credit card, my guide said I could call for a reservation later that day. They can get your member # by your social security # as soon as it's in the system.

Don & June, You have to go to the technical support forum for countdown timers. There is a thread there where you request it.

Minor technicality, but FWIW...

I purchased an Add-On last week (paid with a credit card), and hoped to use the points for this coming Sunday night.

Unfortunately, there was "no room at the Inn," so-to-speak - the DVC Inn. We opted to use points for the least possible option in the World of Resorts Plan (Port Orleans). I was not able to use my new points for this, however - we would have had to close first, though MS told me I "could" have used them for a stay at a DVC resort.

Again - FWIW.

I agree....get the 1 bedroom. We REFUSE to go back to a studio any more. You will too after you experience having a whirlpool in your own bathroom. I assume you bought at BCV. Is that where you are staying as well?

Don - We were on the Magic in January, didn't spend any time with the DVC rep onboard and are looking into DVC now. Just curious - did you get any special deal for joining on the ship in May?

Not sure about any deals .. I know the pricer per point was to go up I believe in June .. we were also credited for the 2002 year for the points we bought into ..

yes we are staying at the BCV also

Don & June, depending on your length of stay, why not split the two rooms. Stay in the studio upon arrival and switch to a 1b (Sun - Thr, fewer points).

As stated, once you've stayed in a 1br the only other way to go is up (2br or GV). We have not tried the 2br but once I try it It'll be hard to go back to either the studio or 1br.

Welcome Home and no matter where you stay, you will be in Disney with your sweetheart.:)
