Reservations?

We're leaving on Friday for CSR and are on the dining plan. I called yesterday and made advance reservations for the places we definitely want to go. The remainder we plan on just deciding when we're there. Is this a mistake? Will we not be able to get into places? I do want to have breakfast at Kona, but I didn't think to make a reservation.

I guess it depends on how flexible you are willing to be with what time you eat and whether you eat in the park or at a nearby resort. I would go to Guest Services first thing in the morning when you hit the parks to find out what is available (I think guest Services at your resort can also make dining reservations too, I'm not 100% sure).

If nothing is available at the park for the time you want, try for an early or late ADR. Also, it may be easier to find an ADR at a resort restaurant. A resort may have more seating times available and you get the chance to check out resorts you may never have seen!

Im surprised you were able to call yesterday and make any reservations for next week. Cant you call today and try to get Konas too?

Yes, I was able to call yesterday and get reservations for Jiko and Mama Melrose. Maybe they are places that aren't normally too busy? I'm not sure...its our first trip. I will try and call about Kona tomorrow once I figure out which day we'll go. I guess I don't want to schedule myself too much, since it is a vacation and I don't want to be a slave to a schedule. I have enough of that at work!
