I know this is a dumb question, but when you make reservations thru DCL and you choose to have your air included does that cover round-trip, or just one way??
TIA!!!

It is round trip. And nothing is a stupid question. Our only thing with going through disney with flights is they don't give you a choice in when you leave. We opted to go down a day earlier then the flight just to make sure we arrived on time. Also I was told by more then one person including my TA to book the flights separately b/c Disney usually has higher prices then what you could find yourself. Airlines always are having deals to fly into Orlando. Just watch the airlines.

Thanks so much for the info/advice.
I'm trying to convince my DH that an hour or so drive to the airport would be a lot easier than 9 hours one way!! :moped:
Thanks for the advice about the times and the rates, that's a big help...I wouldn't have even thought of that, had you not told me! Thanks!
BTW, do you know if you go thru a TA if they will arrange the flight for you as well? Just wanted to ask since the last cruise was booked directly thru DCL.

One more thing...thank you for not thinking that my question was dumb. I have found this place to have been of great help, and I don't know if our recent cruise would have been half the fun of what it was had I not found this place in advance. Y'all are awesome! :grouphug:

Any TA should also be able to make separate flight reservations, although I would be careful to tell them that you want them separate or they may take the lazy route and book them through DCL. The only advantage of booking through DCL is that you are protected in the event that flight delays cause you to miss the cruise, which is not the case if you book your own air. In addition to being more expensive, the disadvantage of booking through DCL is that you are at their mercy as to flight times and routes. When I've asked DCL to include the flights, they almost always try to get you in the day of the sailing and almost always have connecting flights instead of non-stops. I'd personally always book airfare separately and arrange to come in the night before.

We went through Dreams Unlimited. They are wonderful. The price we got for our Sept cruise was several hundred dollars cheaper then DCL directly and this didn't include the $100 rebate DU gave us off the price of the cruise. Also DU can do flights and the disney transfers from the airport.

What would be the downside of flying in the same day as sailing day. I didn't see where that would really matter to the DH and I, as long as we are there in time to catch the ship. They do make sure that your flight times are in line with the cruise schedule, correct?

Being in GA you do not have to deal as much with flight delays, bad weather and so on. That is a concern of those in the north. If we get a bad snow storm, or heavy rains some where along the line flights can get really backed up and arrive in late.

Because flight delays (sometime significant) and cancellations are fairly common, many people prefer not to take the chance. If you are scheduled to fly in the night before and have a problem, you have all night and the next morning to get it fixed and get another flight. If you are scheduled to go out that morning and have a problem, your opportunity to get it fixed is much more limited. Also, there aren't many places from which you can get to Orlando before late morning, so you may get to the port a few hours after boarding starts and have problems with Palo reservations, Spa times, etc.

OK, that makes sense. I guess since I've only flown once before in my whole life that's why I really don't know all these things about cancellations and delays, etc, etc.
Thanks again for the help.

It covers round trip. We did this on our first land/sea package. After a little bit of homework, I found out it was much cheaper to book the flight ourselves and that is what we did on our second land/sea vacation. I would rather have the extra money to spend while on the trip than hand it off to Disney for our flight. They still got our money but we got something in return for it also.
