Do all of your restaraunt ADR's have to be paid in 45 days or just certain ones? If they all do, I assume they give you credit if you cancel? Also, do they charge you if you cancel?

Thank you

What?? Only those restaurants that charge up front like CRT, HDDR, etc need to be paid, right? Is this what you were asking?
You can make ADR's for all other restaurants without paying until after you eat, for example, CM, CP, GG, etc.

Some ADR's require payment at the time that you reserve them (the only two that I had to pay up front were CRT and the Princess Breakfast, but I think there are others). When you make those reservations they will take your credit card information and actually charge your card right then. They will also tell you the cancellation policy....unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a set amount of time across the board....CRT was 24 hours and Princess was 48 hours. If you've already made/paid for those, just call the ADR line and ask them what each policy is. If you cancel in time you get a full refund, in less than the time there was a per person charge, I think it was $10????....if you simply don't show up, you don't get any refund.

Could you possibly be confusing the 45 days with the full payment of any package? You have to cancel a package (room/tickets/dining plan) before 45 days or there is a charge....the amount of the charge was pretty high, I want to say $100 or $200 and depended on how much time was left. If you cancel the pacakage before the 45 days, you get a full refund.

Again, for that one you can also call and ask them the exact policy for what you reserved.

I've heard lots of complaints about these fees, but have yet to hear of anyone successfully getting the fees waived, so it would behoove you to knoww the policy and cancel on time if you need. I would put it on my calendar, probably a week before the deadline to give me time to get it done.

If you have a ROOM ONLY reservaton, you have to cancel 5 days before arrival or they won't refund the one night deposit. You can pay the balance of your reservation for room only at the time of check in.

Caveat: I haven't been to WDW yet....our first trip is 5 months away, but the above is based on what I've read here on DIS....read on the WDW website and several guide books....the policy for the restaurants are from when I made my ADR's a couple weeks ago.

No...at most restaurants making ADRs is just like reserving anywhere...however because of the Dining Plan it is sometimes hard to get into TS restaurants at Disney World so if you aren't going to make it it's a good idea to cancel so they can give the table to someone else.

If you are booking something that needs to be paid or has a deposit, like CRT or Dining with an Imagineer, they will ask for a credit card at time of booking. If it is something that only requires a credit card hold, they don't charge the card. If it is something that requires full payment, they charge the card when you make the reservation, and they will make sure you understand that. They will also give you a cancellation window, and if you cancel before that time there is no charge. If you do not cancel and just don't show up, like for a Fantasmic Dinner Package or Candlelight Processional package, they will charge a per-person fee to your credit card.
