Hello! well I guess I took too long trying to figure out where and when to eat now there is NO where to eat under table service, do they ever open up? Boy, this is our first time and I didnt know how quick these reservations book up. The problem is how do you know when you are going to be hungry??:confused3

Well back to my question, do they ever open up? I look probably once a day with no luck.

Are you searching for specific restaurants, or is it that you are finding no availability at any TS restaurant, even resort restaurants or Downtown Disney?

They do open up. At this stage you may not get what you want every time and possibly not even the times you want but there is always hope. Keep doing what you are at the moment by checking every day. When the online system tells you your choice is not available, it offers alternatives. Always have a look at those as there may be something there that would appeal to you. Also try playing around with times. I know lunch at 11.30 am sounds crazy but you could treat it as a late breakfast. Or an early dinner at 4.30 pm could serve you as a late lunch. If you don't have little ones you can also try for late dinner reservations.

There is a cancelled ADR thread for each month on the Dining Reservations board. It is worth subscribing and keeping an eye on that too.

Finally, don't give up once you get there. Stopping at your front desk each morning or afternoon when you arrive back or leave for a park will also increase your options.

I wish you all the best. You may not get all, but if you are persistent you should still get some. People have snagged ressies much closer to their trips than you are so you do still have a bit of time on your side.

I nearly forgot to ask you: Are you on the dining plan and looking for places to use credits or are you paying out of pocket? No dining plan gives you more options and should be much easier to get something.

What time do you usually eat lunch and dinner at home? Just make your ADRs for the same time.

From your ticker, it looks like you're going around Thanksgiving. That's a busy week, and you probably won't have your top choices of restaurants and times, but there are options. Book some less popular restaurants, try for lunches instead of dinners, and keep checking back, since people cancel all the time.

I thought the week after thanksgiving was slow season???

I didnt know there was a board for dining reservations. I learn something new and great on these boards all the time.:goodvibes

SO... the front desk will look for me? even if we are staying at POP? Yes, I am on the dining plan....Thanks for all your information.

I was actually searching by place... (magic Kingdom and Epcot), I have been trying for dinner at both places on certain nights. To tell the truth I didnt try resort or Downtown because I wanted to stay close to the park we were at that day. Is that a stupid thought???

The Magic Kingdom has some great restaurants a quick hop on the monorail away:

Contemporary:
Chef Mickey's
California Grill
The Wave

Polynesian:
Kona Cafe
'Ohana

Grand Floridian:
Citrico's
Narcoossee's
1900 Park Faire
Grand Floridian Cafe

Or a slightly longer boat trip:

Wilderness Lodge:
Artist Point
Whispering Canyon Cafe

Fort Wilderness:
The Hoop De Doo Revue
Trail's End Buffet

Epcot & DHS also have some great spots in the nearby resorts, which are also just a short walk/boat trip away, although I'm not as familiar with that area. I'm sure someone will fill in those blanks :)

Yacht & Beach Club:
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Captain's Grille
Cape May Cafe
Beaches & Cream

Boardwalk:
Kouzzina
The Flying Fish Cafe
ESPN Club
Big River Grille & Brewing Works

Getting out of the park and taking a short little ride to dinner, to me, is a wonderful thing. I hope that helps a little bit :goodvibes

I would suggest trying twice a day even (it is quick and painless!) and also, check at 45 days out specifically b/c that is when final payment is due on packages and you may find that people end up cancelling at that time, which opens up their tables.

Good luck- I bet you end up getting some nice ADRS lined up before your trip!

We are going the week of Thanksgiving. We switched our ressie for March 2011 to Thanksgiving 2010 about a month ago, so I made ADR's late. I got decent ressies, but not some of the things I wanted. Just this week I have gotten Coral Reef, Le Cellier, and Ohana for my dates, so there are ressies opening up. The 45 day mark is another point at which a lot of ressies open up. Packages need to be apid in full by that point so there seem to be alot of cancellations around then.

I don't know if this thread was moved of if I was having an absent minded moment when I posted, but the cancellation threads are on this board. You will want to watch the November one - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2457313&page=9

Yes, you can check at your front desk, even at the values, but use that as your last option. The more you get before your trip, the less pressure on you while you are there. Your plan to try and eat at the parks you are at for the day is a good one. You don't want to waste time hopping across the far end of the World for a meal. However as another poster mentioned, MK is great in this respect as there are so many nearby resort restaurants - and some lovely ones at that too! Guitarob gave you a great list to go through! :thumbsup2
