reservations has this happened to you

I made reservations at the royal pacific for early february. A hold was placed against my debit card for the deposit but was never taken, the deposit monies were then released. I check my reservation info on line and it shows the complete amount is due upon check in. It just seems weird to me as this has never happened before and the last several times they have always taken the deposit.

Did you book online or in person. That seems to make a difference. I always book in person and have always had my deposit taken immediately. Online seems to be more varied.

I booked online and it took nearly 3 months for the deposit to debit my account ( I booked nearly 8 months in advance)..just check before you go and make sure they don't pull it out twice

The accounting dept. seems to have some problems with these deposits.

I had booked online for PBH, deposit taken on my cc immediately. Later found a much better rate at RPR so booked that using my other cc to avoid confusion.

Canceled the PBH ressie and watched and waited for the refund to be posted on my cc. Called Loews, they said at least 10 business days for it to show up. OK, waited longer than that, no refund.

Called again, the rep said the refund had been posted to my cc, could not say what date. Waited some more. Finally before 60 days had gone by (the latest you can dispute a charge on amex), I called amex and asked if they had any record of this refund - nope. Had to open a dispute about it so amex could investigate.

i book months out all the time.

in all my stays onsite, twice my deposit wasn't charged to my cc when booking.

just have to pay the total when you check out of the hotel.

Everytime we book A room I call directly.Within the next day or two the deposit shows up on my CC.

I call to make reservations, had 3 this year and have not had deposit taken for any over the last 3 years, for my reservation next year ,they have taken the deposit, but like macraven said, it has to be paid at checkout, not checkin

I made my ressie for RPR online and my deposit never was taken. I called because I wanted to make sure I actually still had a reservation. When I called, it was confirmed that no deposit had been taken, so I gave the info over the phone. I don't think their website is the greatest for making or retrieving reservations.

They waited til new years day to take the deposit for my stay.

I booked my HRH room for October 2010, and they took the deposit within a couple of days.
