Reservations for September?

We are going to Disney in September. I'm pretty sure we are getting the dining plan, not sure which one yet.

We plan on doing some character meals and i will book those very soon.

As for the other table service meals, if we don't care where we eat or want specific times what are the chances of getting table service meals if we don't make reservations???

Very, very slim, especially if Disney offers free dining like they normally do during that time. I've gone every Sept since free dining was first offered and have seen people turned away from TS restaurants every trip. If you are going during the free dining time frame then please make ADRs for every day. Program the dining number into your cell phone and you can always try to change your ADR for that day once you get down there, but at least you will have something booked.

If you absolutely do not want to make ADRs, then plan to arrive at your chosen restaurant right at opening to try for a walk up or else plan to dine at weird hours (lunch at 2:00pm and dinner around 9:00pm). Also remember that the more people that are in your party the harder it may be. A party of four might have better luck than a party of say five or more. Although not necessarily. When I was there last Sept I tried a walk up for 'Ohana right at opening. I was a party of one and was turned away. You might also be able to get into the less popular restaurants (Olivias, Maya Grill, Shuttters, Biergarten, Marrakesh, GF Cafe, etc).
