I am getting ready to make our reservations today for July. I see where people request rooms and such but I was wondering if you have better luck calling in your reservation or booking it on-line? I went to the on-line area at WDW website but there is no mention of room requests or anything like that. I am sure this has been asked a thousand times but I did a search and cannot find anything. Thanks for any help that you can give me!

I suggest you go online and get your price quote. Then, call Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY to make the reservation. You can then make sure your reservation requests are noted during your telephone call.

The castmember will tell you that the requests are noted but are not guaranteed.

When making reservations online, there is a place before you complete the reservation where you can put in special requests. This worked for me in November 2007. I requested Jamaica 45 at CBR and that is exactly what I got!

I actually prefer booking online for several reasons. #1, I am not a telephone person; #2, booking by phone seems to take forever; and #3, when booking online, you get instant e-mail confirmation.

We have done both online and phone reservations and always received the requests we asked for. I like to call even though it takes a while sometimes. If you call, they will ask for your email to send you a hardcopy of your invoice within 24-48 hours. I printed a couple of copies out so when can send a payment now and again. ;)

my vote is to call. I have leard from others that if you make an on-line reservation, you can only put the deposit down. I like to mail in payments ahead of time so it is paid in full prior to arrival. On-line reservations will not allow additional payments to be made ahead of time.

CindyBrice, so when do you pay for the remainder of your trip? Upon arrival? I booked our last trip through a TA and paid my deposit and then paid in full about 2 months before our trip. Can I not do that if I book on-line this time?

You can actually make payments online. You just log onto www.disneyworld.com. Then you to go My Disney vacation. Enter your reservation number and phone number. The minimum payment is $20.00 and you can make as many payments as you want so long as the package is made in full 45 days prior to your arrival.

I have made over 40 payments on our vacation and have paid more than $3,300.00 so far. Just $1,100.00 left and I still have a month and a half until my 45 day mark.

What I beleive was for room only reservations, the reservations on line would not allow additional payments. I know there had been previous threads on this. I always call and make my initial reservation then mail in paymnets $100-$300 at a time and go on line to verify they have been received (with phone number and reservation number). Maybe something has changed recently. I could be wrong - like i said, there had been threads about this before.

Check the price online and then call Disney. For some reason it is sometimes cheaper via phone (and you can ask questions, etc.).:hippie:

I call, but only because you can't apply AAA discounts online.
If they ever change that, I'd be happy to book online.

When I want to check rates, I pull up the info online, grab a calculator, pen, paper and dial. Once I have the CM on the line, I use the online info as a reference, and use the calculator as needed.

I would never just book online. I like to hear what the CM has to say.

I would definitely go via phone. I hate the phone, and was seconds from booking online, but decided at the last minute I better talk to someone instead. Am I glad I did! The CM I talked to found an awesome discount which added park hoppers and upgraded us to the YC (instead of POR like i had planned) for very minimal cost. He seemed honestly awestruck that the computer had pulled it up. Our trip will be much more magical thanks to his sincere willingness to help

You can make payments online. I have made 4 of them online for my upcoming December trip & did my last May trip entirely online. Only time I call was to put in requests. But you just sign in & go to "My vacations" & put you reservation number in & up pop up is your reservation & asking if you want to make a payment.:)

Thanks - From what i read previously, if you originally booked on line, you could not make additional payments on line. If you booked via phone you could make payments on line. Glad to hear otherwise.

Thanks everyone so much for your help!!! I got a price quote on-line and then will because I want to pay for the trip in full at the time of the reservation! Thanks again for all of your great ideas!!!!:yay:
