(Long story before question)...
.....we flew down to Disney last Tues the 18th. Sadly, the day BEFORE I BROKE MY LEG!! With an autistic DS16 who eats, sleeps, breaths Disney, we didn't have the heart to cancel.:sad2: It was very difficult as DH and I usually "tag team" our son.....so when we go on overload, one of us will take a couple hours to decompress while the other takes him out to ride the monorail. Needless to say, DH had to take care of our DS AND ME (DD off at College so wasn't along to help)!
Even tho my sister graciously flew down last minute on Thursday, it was just too much. I couldn't do anything and needed to keep my leg elevated (surgery this Thursday yippeeee)! We flew home 3 days early (to freezing cold weather I might add lol)!

DVC was gracious enough to put our points (that we couldn't use) into holding. We have to use them before THIS NOV 30th. I was told I cannot book out any FURTHER than 60 days. I can't imagine getting in ANYWHERE at 60 days out.:confused3 We are hoping to maybe book a 1 BDRM TPV at BLT in November?????

What do you guys think our chances are?? Or maybe a 2 BDRM TPV (thinking most guests book standard and lake view before TPV)???

Thx for your help!!:thumbsup2

I think your chances of booking any near park resort, in any room category, within 60 days in November are about zero.

If your travel plans are really flexible I would aim for August, or early September before F+W starts.

From the first day of F+W through the end of the year, you would be lucky even to get SSR inside 60 days without a split stay. Disney has done a great job making the latter part of the year high demand, at least for DVC.

I would love for you to report back here in September that I was wrong and you booked BLT theme park view. I just don't think there's any chance it would happen.

I had holding points to use by the end of last September -- there was availability at SSR, OKW, and AKL for September when I searched 60 days out. Not sure what November will look like, but I agree with PP that August and September before F&W are probably your best bets.

Good luck! I too have holding points but I am hoping to use mine in June. Right now, I can get AKV Kidani for a few of my days but we prefer Jambo which has nothing for our dates. I guess being flexible will help.

Late-August / early-September is best possibility, along with MAYBE the middle 1-2 weeks of November (after "Jersey Week", before Thanksgiving week--you'll have to check those dates.)

SSR and OKW are likely destinations. AKV also possible. Virtually no chance of BLT, BWV, BCV, VWL or VGF 60 days prior to arrival. Most of that availability will be taken just inside of 7 months.

I suspect TPV is impossible....BUT...

When we bought resale we got entered into system in October and snagged a AKV Savannah view studio in December. I never dreamed that would work out. And now, AKV is one of my favs. I bet you can find SOME reservation.....

For me, any visit is worth it. I have stayed in awful places for conferences and meetings, so even a reservation at your third or fourth choice will still be on property and give your son that Disney magic......

my 2 cents

I was able to pull together a BWV pool/garden studio for the week of Nov 10 last year within 60 days. I had to stalk the website to get days as they came up plus waitlist. SSR was available.

I agree that BLT is unlikely, especially TPV. Most of the rooms are lake view.

Thx all! We would prob only do a midweek 3 night getaway. May have to look into Aug/Sept. Bad timing as DD19 will be studying abroad this fall semester and DH will likely fly over with her to get her settled.....towards the end of Sept lol! ;)

We'll figure something out!! :thumbsup2

I've had holding points a couple of times to use and have not had any great issue doing so. To do it best you need to allow some flexibility in dates and also locations that you stay. But you never know what you might find opening up as other people may need to cancel. Remember flexibility and think of it as an opportunity to try a new place otherwise you are likely setting yourself up for disappointment in not getting BLT TPV. (Also that is not the last category to book. LV has far more rooms and is the last to book. TPV would only happen because you caught a cancellation).

Thanks for the advice! :)We have tried to stay at other places but our autistic DS is not so good with change. In years past, we have tried a split stay with the second half at the CR/BLT, but at the first hotels we'd have such issues (anxiety, standing in a corner looking lost, just awful), that we'd end up the second day at the front desk trying to switch over to the CR/BLT sooner.
We tried on 3 different occasions and it's just not worth the trouble anymore. :worried:

I don't know what we're going to do. May end up trying to sell the points......:rolleyes2.

I REALLY appreciate the advice!! :thumbsup2 Thank you again!:goodvibes
