Reservation with transferred points

I’m considering a reservation at 7 months which may include some transferred points. I understand that reservations with transferred points typically have to be made thru Member Services rather than online. Would DVC allow me to make part of the reservation online and then later add to it via member services using the transferred points?

To illustrate, let’s assume I want to book 7 nights with check-in on May 20. At 8am on October 20, I use website to book 4 nights using my own points. Then I call MS to add the additional 3 nights using the transferred points, giving me the full 7 nights from check-in which DVC rules permit.

Will that work?

I just booked a room at BCV at 8am online and then needed to add one extra day using 1 OTU point and had to call at 9am to do it and it wasn't a problem. So I would assume the same can be done with transferred points.

We did the same thing a few months ago, reserving a room at VGF for February at the 7-month mark. Reserved up to the limit of our points online at 8:00, called at 9:00 to purchase OTU points and add a night to the reservation. No problem at all.
