Without scheduling one year in advance what are the tricks for getting a reservation. When I go I see many empty sites but many times I am told they are booked? What is up??

Check frequently.Call every chance you get you never know when some one will cancel their reservation

Melissa when we made our reservation for this Thanksgiving we originally had to make a 10 day ressie in order to get the dates we wanted. Then a few weeks ago we modified our ressie and dropped the dates we weren't going to use.

I hope you can get the ressie you want !!!! Keep trying !!!!

I also am having trouble and need help. Am trying to reserve for Easter week 2010...I know I'm crazy but just found out my son is playing in a baseball tournament that week at Wide World of Sports. We want to take our motorhome because we feel it's the only way to go. Not planning on going to parks since we were just there in October and did all four. Any suggestions on getting a reservation? The website says the only thing available are tent sites. Help!

Stay in a tent? Or stay offsite in your motorhome?

Call now and automatically book it for (2) weeks 1 - week prior then 1 week after the actual dates. Then modify it after you have already paid the 1st night deposit or wait a couple of weeks and cancel. I did for reservation next October and it worked!

So there is no penalty for canceling part of the res? I'm having trouble getting any weekend at all but I guess I need to book a week vs 3 days?

I think your chances of getting in at Easter are slim. This is the second most popular time at WDW. Keep calling, maybe you'll get lucky, but don't get your hopes up this late. You should probably try off property but that will probably be just as unlikely. :confused3

I don't know if you belong to AAA or not, but I plugged in the dates of 4/1 through 4/11 (didn't know your exact dates) on their website, and it shows availability at several levels, rates from 68.40 through 95.00 (before tax). Just a thought . . .

keep trying! I just booked for march 27 to april 2nd. When i first checked into it only tent sites were available. I tried again and was able to book a premium site.:cool1: So keep playing with it and also can try calling them too. Good luck!:goodvibes

If you want Easter. Plug in Mar 26 thru Apr. 16. All sites will come up. Simply book it and pay for 1 day. Then just cancel the days you don't actually want. If you cancel early enough they don't get mad as they can then sell those days.

AAA will show availability even if there is none. It will not tell you there is no availability until you actually put in your payment information.

Got some ressies! Just kept playing with the dates until I got availability. Only need five nights but had to book eight - all types of sites came up as available. Will wait a few days and call back and cancel the days I don't need. Hate to have to do it that way, but feel I had no choice. Feel a little naughty but have to do what it takes to stay at the Fort!
