Reservation Question

We have just sent in our closing docs and payment and are so excited to make our first reservation. Playing around on the WDW website for the dates we want to go in the first week in November and only SSR and OKW came up. Is it really possible that those are the only ones available or do they put some aside for us DVCers? Thanks and sorry if this is a repeat question!!

They have already put all they have available out and most of the available units have already been booked by members. You're about six months out and members can use any resort points at seven months out. So others had a month ahead of you to book what was left at seven months.

Cash reservations through the WDW website and DVC reservations come from two different inventories. It is possible that there are rooms available for points, even if none are showing on the cash website. However, usually the opposite is true, there will be cash reservations showing available, and no points reservation availability. I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for point reservations, while possible, at less than 6 months out for the early November timeframe, it is unlikely.

There is always a possibility all your dates will not be available. I am assuming you are buying through resale so you should be in the system within a few weeks. That puts you about 5 months out.

But, I from everything that I have read, there is typically at least availability at SSR or OKW.

What I should have said, was that it would be unlikely to find point availability at the EPCOT area or MK area DVCs, You will probably have some availability at SSR and OKW, and possibly AKV, as they continue to declare units into inventory. You may even get lucky and hit it right as they declare more BLT units into inventory. But I wouldn't hold out too much hope for BWV or BCV, especially if you are going during Food & Wine.

But, it is also possible that you'll have to waitlist. It seems, even with the economy, people are traveling. They just aren't spending as much $$ once they get there.
