Reservation question

I'm still new at this, so please forgive what may be a silly question.

I had a 6 day reservation at HHI made at the 11 month point with HHI points (home advantage). Today I called to add on one more day (at the 7 month mark). I used a blend of HHI and BCV points to get the extra day.

MS told me they could not add the day to my existing reservation because it was not all HHI points. Rather they gave me a 1 day reservation (new conf # and everything) but she says it is linked to my original reservation.

Is this the way it should have been done? She says it is linked and I will not have to move rooms. Does this sound right?
