Reservation question using "diffferent points"

I have a reservation in May using my DVC points. If I buy someone else's points that expire in May can I switch the current reservation to the new points. I currently have a BWV standard view 2 bedroom which I know will not be available if I have to cancel to ressie to rebook. Can they do it all at the sametime where I don't loose the current reservation in the process?

Are you purchasing a new resale contract? Or are you getting a points transfer from another member? I think what you ultimately must do is cancel and rebook. But if your reservation is no longer available because it went to the first person on the Waitlist, you won't have a reservation any more.

But if those points you are getting are BWV points, you might be able to do it. Call MS to see for sure.

A lot depends upon the ponts you want to use, and when you booked the trip, too. If you booked during the 11 month priority window, and the points are not from BWV, they should not be able to be switched, to do so defeats the purpose of the home ownership window.

I booked after the 7 month mark so that would not be an issue. I own at SSR but booked BWV at the 7 month.

I want to transfer in points from a member and their points expire at the end of May. My points do not expire until the end of November.

I would like to know how they rebook it. I do not want to loose the reservation.

Since you booked the reservation with SSR points, during the time open to everyone, I think that they will allow you to "re-allocate" your points if you get some transferred in. I would call MS to double check, but I think you can do it.

I have a reservation for this coming July that I had orginally booked with my BLT points. I decided later to use my HHI points. When I called MS I had to cancel the original reservation and rebook.
