I'm looking in to renting points for a trip either in Oct or Nov. I've been on another rental site and found someone trying to rent out "reservation points" that she says can be used at Grand Floridian, Poly, Yacht club, and the moderate resorts. Has anyone ever heard of this? Wondering if ir is a legit thing?

Check prices with Disney before renting reservation points. Often it is cheaper to just reserve through Disney. It all depends on how much they are charging you for the points. If they are trying for anything over about $5, just book through Disney. Reservation points aren't worth too much since it is considered a trade.

What happens is if you book a stay outside of DVC, such as a regular Disney hotel, Disney Cruise, outside exchanges, the points become "reservation points". If you cancel that reservation, the points remain "reservation points" and can only be used outside of DVC. There is also a $95 reservation fee when you make or change a reservation point stay.

It also takes a lot more points and costs a lot more to use on those resorts. I would make sure that renting is the most cost effective choice for you.
