Reservation Points VS Vacation Points

I currently have 2 DVC vacations booked. Today I logged into the DVC website to review my reservations. Under my AKV ressie, it says I am using vacation points but my VGC ressie says I am using Reservation points.

I know that the DLR resorts are not subject to the $95 reservation fee but is this something I should call member services about? Am I booked in the wrong category or does it not matter?

When you book into a non-DVC Disney hotel you are using reservation points. So if you are in the non-villa portion of the hotel they have it correct. It only matters if you cancel as the points will stay reservation points and can only be used for hotel stays. They cannot be banked either.

heh, Good catch reddog!

Our reservations say the same thing (BLT=Vacation Points, VGC=Reservation Points). We are setup for a 2BR at VGC, so it has to be the DVC portion. Hmmmm....

Edit: I just posted this question on the VGC Owners thread at: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=34669487&posted=1#post34669487

Maybe our colleagues will have an answer or confirm the same happens to them.

I think it's a glitch in the system, I've seen it posted before.

I called member services. According to them, I am booked on vacation points. They suggested that the website may not have been updated to show that the Grand Californian is no longer booked on reservation points.

The same thing happened with AKV reservations for the first year or so that the resort was open. Good to hear they have fixed it for AKV at last!

We cancelled a GCV reservation that was listed as using vacation points and they were returned to our account as vacation points with no problem. -- Suzanne
