Reservation Mess....advice on how to fix needed

Ok- here is what I have:

Original Plan: 3 people staying on property from 11/9-11/12. Room only reservation made at Animation in regular room.

Changed Plan: 3 others decided to come, so made ANOTHER room only reservation made at Animation in suite.

Same 6 people going to Epcot on 11/8, but have an off property stay. Was able to make 45 day FP reservations for all because of Onsite stay that started the following day.

Now. the other 3 have changed there mind and will not be going on-site with us from 11/9-11/12.

Thank goodness I still have both reservations. I know I need to cancel the suite at Animation. But, I don't want to loose the FPs for Epcot.

Two questions:
1. If I wait until 30 days prior to cancel the Suite. I think the FPs for epcot will remain. Is this correct?

2. How do I deal with the Magic Band requests I am getting from Disney? They want me to go in and pick bands. Do I do that for the suite reservation so all have bands to use in Epcot? Or do I just do it for the 3 person reservation?

You can customize your friends magic bands in mde, but if you cancel the reservation before they are shipped, they will disappear from mde. You would have to cancel the reservation after the magic bands are shipped in order to receive them from Disney. They are usually shipped about three weeks before your stay.

I don't know what happens to the fast passes if up I cancel the reservation.

Thanks. The more and more I look into this. I think them cancelling out, may end up being a good thing (well except for the fact that they won't be there!). I keep the suite reservation, cancel after I receive the MBs and 30 days prior to reservation. From what I am reading the FP reservations I have for will stay. When they leave us, I grab their MBs and can get SDFPs for use. Think I have that correct!

We visit Disney ultiple times a year and have never received our magic bands 30 days early. You may need to rethink your cancelling strategy.

For my trip last week the Magic Bands came only a week out. Not to mention, I think it is pretty unethical to use the Magic Bands of people who are not on the trip to scam extra rides.

I leave on Nov 9 and the Magic bands still say one more day to customize. So they won't be mailed out until under 30 days.

In 4 trips with MBs, the absolute earliest we have ever received our MBs is 20 days out. Usually between 2-3 weeks. Not something to hinge your plans on, really.

Thanks for you replies. I got it all worked out last night.

Humm....but now you have me thinking. We are leaving for Orlando a week earlier than my onsite reservation. Hopefully I get them in at least one week before I leave!

I suppose if I don't, GS will be able to take care of it.
