reservation is frozen???

Ok called on Friday for our Aug 7-13th reservation and so happy we got in! WE planned on doing to dining plan starting the 8th so I called yesterday to add it on b/c I know we had to make an additional room reservation. The MS could not open or change my reservation! He told me to call back next week when the tech. people are there.. ok fine.. I understand there can be complications.. but I told him I was concerned about not being able to seperate the reservations with 1 day without dining and the rest of the week with it.. and he told me I could add dining on whenever I wanted and would still be able to seperate the reservation. I thought I had to do this right away?
 
My understanding (based on multiple reports of our fellow DIS members) is that you do NOT have to do it right away. Some early reports said that you did or should do it right away, but it now appears that those CMs weren't fully trained and that at least the Supervisors can handle this task without losing any part of the reservation.

Just call back on a weekday and if you continue to run into trouble, ask for a Supervisor. There have been some technical glitches reported lately that appear to be do to the software upgrades.

I really don't think you need to worry.

Ignoring the DDP needs for now, a couple of questions:

  1. Does your current reservation cover all of your travel dates and the room types you want? (i.e. does it appear in your dvcmember page as you expect to see it?) I think that having your dates covered is most important.
  2. Does any of your current reservation involve transferred points?

I am a new DVC member and I had huge headaches making my first reservation, due to the "technical issues". I am an I.T. professional and I was and continue to be curious about their I.T. issues. Yes, I know DVC reservations can be complicated, but that is no excuse. Lots of things are complex in this world. ;)

YEs I have all the travel dates booked I need at Beach Club.. just want to add the dining plan for a portion of our stay.. and no we didnt use any transfered points..
