I am thinking about going for 12 days in July with hybrid TT. We just went for Christmas week. The weather was cold and the parks were packed. After searching some threads it seems like summer is unbearable.(hot, humid, rainy and also busy). I would like to go in the fall, but I hate to take my kids out of school and we wanted to stay longer this time and enjoy the camground more.
Anyone out there that goes in the summer and like it??? :confused3 ??

I think Angie needs to chime in here--she definately loves the summer at FW--the whole summer!! :rotfl2:

I prefer the FW in the summer. It is busier and more vacation like. The fall trips are pleasant, but it can be chilly on the bike or golf cart in the evenings and I don't go for the parks (I go to the parks but they are just an added extra).

Yep! We will be moving in June 2 and staying until Aug 5! Having ap's, we are not pressured into doing everyting at one time and usually wait until night time to hit the parks.

As I remember, last October you were about a week late with your stay - when we met while you and your sister were riding bikes around our loop, you were going to be leaving and we had just arrived. That week we were there (just before Wilma) was about the best weather I have ever experienced in Florida - low humidity, mid 80's during the day, 70's at night, no rain. Just gotta consult with ftwildernessguy before you book that fall trip! ;)

Summer is the only time we can go .... so we like it. We are camping for 16 days in July. Maybe we will see you there. It is hot, humid and very rainy, but we just throw on our ponchos and go. We have always had a great time. The advantage of camping is that we can stay longer and can take the parks in small bites. By staying at FW, you can get back to your campsite and relax.

We are going the 8th-20th. I really want it to work. It is the only way for us to stay longer and try to enjoy the campground also. I wonder how the crowds will be. I guess the best thing to do is get up early and get to the parks before they get busy then go back to the campground to relax (while it rains  ) Is it hard to keep the rv clean if it rains all day?
What's your favorite loop? We need a pet loop, but I am not sure if we need the cable. 300 looks good or maybe 900 to be near the pool.
Thanks for your help

You are right about the crowds. We find that going early and visiting all of our favorites and new rides works the best - and there is always Fastpass. A rest during the afternoon, when the crowds peak and so does the heat works wonders for your stamina. We go back in the evening for parades and to visit things we missed in the morning. Also to eat (my husbands primary reason for going). We stayed in loop 100 - it was great for us because we wanted to be close to the marina. If cable is not an issue - who has time for TV?!?, then near the pool is nice too. Maybe we will see you there. In any event, have a wonderful time. :sunny:

Oops, forgot to post about keeping the camper clean. We keep a plastic milk crate type box by the door. If we return a bit wet and muddy, shoes get deposited there (we always bring at least 2 pair of good walking shoes, so we have dry ones to put on) We remove ponchos and shake them out good. If it has stopped raining we hang them to dry outside, if not we spread them out in the bathroom area. Hope this helps.
