Hi all--long time board reader here, but first time posting! I keep finding things I want to respond to and finally took the plunge and signed up.

Who we are--Me (41), DH (49), DS (11) and DD (9 almost 10). We live in Kelso, WA, and typically go to DL at least every other year, but sometimes every year. We are true Disney nuts and can't bear to stay away too long.

Last summer we spent 7 days in Disneyland--we didn't go to any other attractions or parks, it was our longest trip and we were able to ride pretty much every single ride, see almost every show, it was great.

This summer my parents have rented a house for a week from July 3-10, so we tacked on a DL trip before from June 29-July 3.

Since we spent so much time in the parks last summer, we were looking for something unique that we haven't done before, and thought the Discover the Magic tour sounded fun and right up our alley.

I see that you can make reservations for tours and such 30 days in advance--if we want to do the tour on July 3, which day would be the 30 days? Does it include July 3 in the counting? I suppose I could call there and find out, but I thought I'd ask all of you for the answer instead.

Thanks!

Hello ~ I'm glad you've joined us. All I can add is that up until 7/3 expect BIG crowds, but if you go with a plan and get there early you'll be fine. Have fun.

ETA ~ why not visit DLR after you stay at the rental home with your parents? Mid July would be much better than late June.

DD is a competitive gymnast and has to be back to practicing right after our vacation rental, the week before is kind of a week off between the regular season and the summer season.

We went this exact week last year, so I know what we're getting into (unfortunately) with the crowds. But we don't really mind them all that much, I guess we're crazy in that way :yay:

We were only going to go to the parks for three days (Wed-Fri) but with the 5 day PH for the price of 3 days, we decided to throw in the arrival and departure days even though they are only partial days and I know Saturday is going to be insane.

Welcome We also are from Kelso, Wa Im 40 hubby is 39 and our kids are 18 and 19. We are heading down mid Aug. never have been brave enough to try early July, just the thought freaks me out we usually go spring break but last year we did early Aug for my 40th bday and while bust it was comparable to spring break so we are trying it again this year but for daughters graduation and my birthday and tacking on a couple days at the end in Vegas!!!
Would love to hear from ya some more it's hard to find fellow disney lovers around here!!!!

Oh! Nice to meet someone else from Kelso!

We have a couple of other friends around here who are real Disneyland nuts too, but not very many. Most of our friends think we are really strange.

I have some friends who are there right now and it's driving me crazy not to be there with them!

For DINING reservations, it's 2 months out (so if you want a reservation for August 20th, you can make them on June 20th).

I would guess that tour reservations are the same concept except a month before instead of 2 months before, but I'm not sure. Hopefully someone will answer for sure!

If you are interested in Walt and think your family could put up with a longer/slower tour, I'd consider the Walt's Footsteps tour instead, though--I've heard great things about it, though I've never been.

Have a great trip!

Our whole family thinks we're strange and I would love to spend even more time there but alas I'm only allowed 1 trip a year, hubby isn't the fan that my daughter and I are!!! :rotfl: but this year because we added Vegas hubby is fine going, but I must also take him to Universal as thats his fav. park and we love Vegas and this will be the kidlets first trip to Sin City!!!
