Reservation cancellation policy?

Good advice - thank you. $10/ guest would be OK - but the full price of this package would be material to me. That wording was straight out of the confirmation - hoping to avoid having to call - whcih coudl be a very long wait time while sitting in an airport with my family. I am actually looking to book the same resturant/ticket package on a later date - and not have the stress of possibly missing this reservation on arrival date. I have a backup dinner already booked late evening on for arrival date.

I have had to take what I can get when booking high demand ADRs- but hopefully I will be able to resolve with obsessive checking for reservations on other days. More specifically, currently this is the only "candlelight processional dining with coral reef as dinner" that does not conflict with other "do not want to cancel" reservations that we have. I do have one similar reservation on reserve, but it will be cancelled if we are not able to get another time for space 220. If we went more often to Disney World it would be different - but this is the first in many years, and we might not be able to go again for years after this time.

2 day cancellation is for special events like fireworks packages or Candlelight packages. and yes, the penalty for no-show is the full amount. I would never book one on the same day I am flying.

I have two fireworks packages on non flight days - one for rose and crown and one for spice road table. Like you stated MakiraMarlena, the cancellation policy in Rose and Crown fireworks confirmation "There is a 2 Day cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if canceling within 2 Days or no show of the reservation," which agrees with the website which states "Guests who do not cancel their reservation within 48 hours of the event will forfeit the entire price of the dining package. " However, (like my original post about the Candlelight dining confirmation) they apparently goofed in editing the Spice Road cancellation policy in the dining confirmation - as the cancellation policy in Spice Road table fireworks confirmation states "I Day/Full Cancellation," but on website it says "Guests who do not cancel their reservation within 48 hours of the event will forfeit the entire price of the dining package. " Agreed - moot issues if the person ont he other end of the cancellation is willing to waive the fee - or if there is no need to cancel in the first place.

I'd prefer not to be on hold with Disney Dining for a couple of hours anyway.

Agreed. I beat this topic to death - thank you all for your advice : ) RESOLVED TO REDUCE STRESS ON FLIGHT DAY: Replaced Candlelight dining 3pm Coral Reef with 7:30pm stand alone Coral Reef - and going to Biergarten candlelight several days later in trip.
