Researching vacation homes as per Disney Savings Guide

I was researchig some vacation homes off Disney property and went to my Disney Savings Guide to see what I should do in my research. One of the things the Guide suggested is that look for a "guestbook" and if there isn't any to not book the home.

My question is what is a "guestbook?" Would someone know what that is? If so please let me know. I am planning my vacation for the last two weeks in August, so I need some help ASAP.

I think they are referring to reviews. I know a lot of www.vrbo.com rentals have user reviews on them. I wouldn't necessarily dismiss a home because there were no reviews, I would, however, check the tax records of a home that I was planning on renting to verify ownership and ensure that there were not a lot of owed taxes on the property.

Not all homes will have online reviews and not all online reviews will be genuine Checking tax records wi not show anything untowards as the taxes can be paid by a mortgage company or the bank even if the owner is going to default also they could be paid as part of a tax certificate sale.The best record is official court records .

Not having a guest book is not a reason to not book a home. Not having paid up taxes is.
