I have a 4yo who I think would love rescue heroes. I found this command center on line for a great price. I have read other reviews and they say that the figures that go with this are discontinued. We do not have any other rescue heroe figures so I would have to buy current ones. Would this be a problem? I guess i am not sure exactly how this toy works would it be worth getting without the old heroes?

Rescue Heros I believe have been discontinued. They do still have some stuff in stores but I assume what's in the stores is all that is left and they will not be making anymore. ALthough Planet Heros I believe are exactly like Rescue Heros.

My son has the Command Center, the beach buggy, cop car, and dozens of figures. Plus the Mini rescue heros stuff. He's 8 years old now I was hoping he'd grow out of them but he won't let me get ris of them yet.

I think all of the Rescue heroes are compatible.

I'm not sure about that, probably. But there is a new command center (Which is the one my son has) The figures can all play on it but they won't talk etc

I bought this for my sons for Christmas. I have found a couple of places you can buy the rescure heroes online still. Just do a search. We have picked up several at garage sales this summer for 50 cents. Online they are around $18. I got some new ones for my kids at Amazon. My oldest loves these guys. He got hooked on them from a computer game. I could not turn down the great price.

I see them all the time at garage sales...there's usually a huge bin full of them for abour 50cents apiece. If you start going to the Saturday sales, I bet it won't take you long to have a houseful of them.

I know what you mean. Our sons also have the command center and lots of Rescue Heroes, but not the ones that make the center talk. Since we never told them that certain figures can make it talk, they have no idea and don't realize they're missing out on anything. they just think its RH headquarters, and they make up their own adventures. Still fun.

I just researched this topic! My 9 year old son had a ton of rescue heroes stuff, and my 4 year old recently discovered it all and loves it! Of course, the rescue hero series has been discontinued! However, on the Fisher Price website, they list a bunch of action figures that are available only at Toys R Us. I went there last week and found the dune buggy and two guys we didn't already have. They had a small selection, and I suppose it depends on whatever the store has in stock. Toys R Us.com also had some items. The Fisher Price site has the DVDs available. Everything we have is VHS, so I ordered a few volumes as DVDs so he can watch them when we travel.

We got almost all of ours at rummage sales this summer. I've seen big lots on ebay. Maybe a kids resale shop might have some?? The last time I was at toys r us they still carried a few figures. My DS adored his Rescue Heroes and has played with them for hours and hours, so I would definitely say get it for your DS.

wow thats a great price. snatch it up. you can always find the action figures on ebay or something and if your son doesnt like it, You can totally sell it on ebay for the $20 you pay for it.

Dang, I cant believe they're discontinued!

Hey I just took a peek at Toysrus.com and they still have tons of the heros and all with free shipping.

My DS would not let me get rid of them until he was 10. :rotfl:
I have to say that is the one thing he played with all the time.

My ds9 was so into them when he was 3 until he was about 5. I think we have every single one, and all the vehicles and command centers. I have them tucked away for when ds2 is old enough to play! But check out your library, they should have some rescue heroes vhs tapes and dvd's for you to borrow. My son loved watching them (at the time there was a show on channel 11 at 3pm!) and then he would re-enact the whole thing! Have fun, its a great toy!

Timely post, I just yesterday gave away all of ds11's rescue heros much to his unhappiness.:sad2: He had a ton of the stuff. We gave it to my nephew who plays with them everytime he comes to my house. Those poor things had been lovingly used for many years. Hope you find a bunch, if your ds is anything like mine you will be holding on to them for awhile!
