Resale Timeline

First off, I want to thank everyone on the DVC boards - what a huge wealth of knowledge and support! I learned so much from you all while researching DVC. We finally took the plunge and purchased a resale contract at OKW through Jaki at **********. Since I was always interested to see resale timelines from others, I thought I would share ours:

Made offer: 3/9
Offer accepted by sellers: 3/10
Mailed deposit check/faxed initial docs: 3/11
Sent to Disney Review Board: 3/12
Disney passed on ROFR: 4/2
Received closing docs: 4/9
Fed Ex'ed closing docs: 4/13
Wired funds: 4/14
Contract closed: 4/22
In DVC system as members: 4/24!!!

Congratulations and Welcome Home!

Other then ROFR exercise or a delayed closing due to a vacation the seller has reserved they go pretty quickly.

Thanks for posting this! We're waiting for ROFR too and for some reason I keep thinking that checking DIS and my email will make the process go by faster

I noticed you posted elsewhere that you got AKV reservations (I think)? Was it pretty easy? I keep hoping for everything to go through by mid May so that I can call for mid December reservations I'd be happy be with anything for our Dec trip but would be just floored if we can get AKV for our first time!

How did you know when you got into the system? Did you just keep calling? TIA!

We tried to get AKV for early October (I needed two studios), but was only able to reserve one and had to waitlist the other. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it goes through!

I called Member Services for the first time yesterday, thinking what the heck, and was totally surprised that we were already in the system. On top of that, our guide called yesterday to welcome us and to give her contact info.

We finally added on. It took some time to find the same UY and qty of points but finally found them. Here is where we stand on 60 BCV, Dec UY. We should be wrapping things up here pretty soon.
