Resale points

I was trying to book some rooms at the Rivera Resort using Grand Floridian resale points and I have and were told I can not use grand Floridian resale points at the Rivera resort. I checked my contract and it doesn’t say anything about this.
Is this something new or was the CM wrong? Thanks

No, not definitely not new. Someone else can give the exact date, but it was announced prior to the start of Riv sales that resale points could not be used there. The only exception is Riv resale points which can only be used there and not at any other resort.

The way I understand it-

Resale bought before April 2016 is 100% grandfathered with the exception of the Disney Collection Exchange that was removed from resale in 2011.

Resale bought Between April 2016 and Jan 2019 no longer qualified for membership perks/benefits aka Blue Card.

Resale bought after Jan 2019 continued not qualifying for blue card, and added limitations to tradability. The OG resorts that existed before RIV could still trade with each other but not with resorts added later, and those new resorts/associations would limit their resale to home usage only.

If you bought VGF resale before 2019 (?Jan 19th maybe?), it should be able to trade into RIV.
Any resale bought after that date cannot trade into RIV.

Resale bought after 2019 cannot be used at RIV, CFW or VDH. We assume LSL will also be a no once it opens as well.

No @Genie+ had it correct. If resale was purchased before 1/19/19 you are able to use those points anywhere.
