Resale Points Usage

As someone that has just bought in direct, I want to do a lot of research on resale market before jumping in. If I purchased, for example, 80 points for the Animal Kingdom; would I be able to combine those 80 AK points with my Riviera points, or would I only have those 80 points to book with at the 11 month mark? Thanks for any help you give.

Resale vs. direct has nothing to do with 11 month booking.

The 11 month window is your home resort window. You can only book at 11 months with the points you own at that specific resort. You cannot combine points at different resorts to book at 11 months because that would defeat the purpose of the home resort advantage.

For example, if you own 100 points at Riviera, you can book at 11 months with those points at Riviera or at 7 months at any of the other resorts. You can't use them anywhere else until 7 months.

With resale AKV points, you could use them to book at 11 months at AKV or at 7 months at any of the other O14 resorts. The resale restrictions would prevent you from using those points at Riviera or Reflections at all.
