Resale market: how long until you found what you wanted?

I called **** ***** on Friday to let him know we are ready to buy (much sooner than we had anticipated!!!). DH gave me the green light and said, let's just buy now in case this takes a while so we have it when we want it for sure (time to pass ROFR, close, find another contract we want in case we don't pass ROFR, etc.).

I specifically told **** that we want a 150-point contract at BWV with a UY of March. So he is looking for that for us. Yes, we are being very specific about the UY because we have the time to do so (first trip home would be on July 2010, with banking some points from 2009 and borrowing from 2011 if necessary). I have seen MANY 150-point contracts for BWV so I know that should not be a problem.

How long does it typically take to find what you want from the time a broker starts looking for you? I would like to know others' experiences with this in the resale market. We are being patient and I am sure this CAN take a long time, and we want to save money by going through resale instead of directly through Disney, and we want 150 points, not the 160 that is currently the minimum through Disney.

Wow that's great! I was hoping we would find something by October so we could be members around the New Year. If it takes longer that is okay too but I figured on a couple of months. I do keep checking to see if he called or emailed though!

We used **** to buy 150 points at BWV. One day there were 3 150 point contracts with varying 2007 points left. The UY was not an issue because we vacation in May, August, and December. We made an offer on one and the seller pulled the listing. He had several contracts and wanted to see what would sell and keep the one that didn't and they all sold about the day before our offer. **** got back to us the same day we made the original offer, and I said we would make an offer on the other 2--but they were gone also. Someone on the boards here actually got one of them, I know because of the odd amount of 2007 points the contract had. As we anguished over buying into a different home resort or going with another resale company, **** called back to say he had found another listing for 150 points at the Boardwalk. I think he was fantastic in his finding us just what we wanted
and am sure he will do the same for you.
