Resale and Welcome Packets

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to be new DVC members at the BCV. We bought a resale and it has closed, just waiting to be added to the "system." Here's my question - will we get some sort of Welcome Packet with all of the necessary info in it? I'm anxious to make reservations for our first trip using points in March and need all the info I can get!

I'm sure someone will be answering your question. We only bought 1 add on through resale, and we didn't get anything like a welcome packet, but maybe that's because we were in the system. I imagine at the least you should get the Vacation Planner.

I did not receive a welcome packet when I initially purchased through resale. Find out who your guide is, call him up, and see what he can send to you.

Will I have a guide at DVC if I bought through the Timeshare Store? Or, do you mean contact the salesman (Jason) at the Timeshare Store? I assume we wouldn't get any sort of products (DVC pin, bag, etc) but I was hoping for all of the rules, guidelines, etc.

Yes, once you are in the system you will be assigned a DVC Guide as now you will be equivalent to all other members.

Welcome Home!

We bought a BWV resale last June and received a Welcome packet from Disney within about three weeks. Also got cards at about the same time. Our guide's name was on the back of the Welcome packet.

To us, it looked like the same thing we would have received had we purchased directly from Disney. We've made our first reservations at BWV for next October and everything has gone smoothly. We've definitely been treated like family!

I asked the same question when I purchased resale last August. Membership guide, yearly packet and two membership card is all I received from DVC. However, there is a different 'welcome' package that DVC sends to people that buy directly from DVC. I believe you receive a backpack and a lithograph of your home resort. To me, buying resale and saving over $5,000 was well worth more than some DVC merchandise but it still would've been nice to get something.
