RER with a wheelchair

We are off to DLP in October and have booked a hotel off site at Val d'Europe. My husband is a wheelchair user and we are now trying to decide what would be better, to use the RER to get to DLP each day or to drive there? We are using the car to get to Paris so the Channel Tunnel is booked. Does anyone have any experience of taking a wheelchair on the train or what are the disabled parking facilities like at DLP?

The RER stations at Val d'Europe and at Marne la Vallée-Chessy (Parc Disneyland) have lifts but there is always the possibility that they aren't working and it would leave you with the escalators.

The RER it's self has wheelchair spaces in each wagon but there are no ramps from the platform to the wagon.

You'd have to be able to push the wheelchair on yourself - it's a small step up

The parking at DLP would cost you 15€ per day but they give you acces to a special area with a code

All car parks at Disneyland® Paris have specially designated parking bays for mobility-impaired guests. The car park that is reserved for guests with disabilities is accessed via the main car park toll booth, Toll Plaza, including for Annual Passport holders with a parking option.You will be asked to show your disability card (or some other suitable document issued less than 3 months ago, in French or English).
A Cast Member will give you a flyer containing all the information you need for your visit, as well as an entry code for the Disabled Guests' car park. This 120-space car park is located alongside the Disneyland® Hotel and the Guest Relations Window.

My DS (aged 15) uses a wheelchair and we use the RER ok, we use the lift, its a bit slow though. The trains are very frequent and takes only minutes to travel to Val d Europe/DLP.

As you can see on the pix on a members thread the RER train carriage is a step up, so my son gets out of the chair for me as I am only 5ft tall and I don't have the strength to tip him backwards, same again when leaving. I haven't seen any staff around when boarding so I don't know whether they have a ramp.

Actually we are visiting DLP on sunday next week for 6 days and will be defo be going to Val d Europe, so if we experience anything else I will let you know. Hope this helps.

Looking at the RATP guide (which only seems to exist in French) - There are ramps in some RER stations but not all, already in train stations they are pretty much non existant but on public transport you are on your own .

You have to find a member of staff when you arrive in the station who will get it out if they are available and when they have time ! and then you will be put in the wagon just behind the driver.

Same applies if the lift is down they will just let you make your own way up the escalators or stairs if there are no escalators.
