RER into centre of Paris question?

Could SKS let me know approximately how long the RER takes to get into Paris itself?

We did it on our first DLP trip and I believe it was something in the order of about 40 mins, but don't quote me on that as it was about 5 years ago.
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Hi ,We went in October and it was about 40 mins,although heres a tip if you are going back around 4 or 5 oclock it is very very busy and will take much longer

I did the trip many times. 40 minutes about average to the 'heart' of Paris. Note also that a carte mobilis is better value than Paris Visite card unless you need the discounts it offers. Some ticket sellers may try to force you to buy the Paris Visite - hold firm!

thanks for the tip, the mobilis is about E5,00 cheaper. What about children? I can see that there is a kids Paris Visite card, there doesn't appear to be a Mobilis one?

Sorry, I am/was childless in Paris! Don't know about that. Did you go to www.ratp.fr and check the rates? you can turn the language into English if necessary - it's a VERY handy site. I found zone 1-5 ticket for youth is eu6,40 when I searched in French - don't see it on the English version though, sorry!

Also, Auber is handy to the department stores; CDG Etoile is for Champs Elysee/Arc de Triomphe sites

To avoid long ticket lines in the morning, we buy buy our RER tickets/Moblis a day or two before. They are good until you use them.

WE purchased a combined RER and metro ticket which cost 12 euros per adult and 8 euros per child. It gives you unlimited use of the two services for one day.

As everyone said the trip took us about 45 minutes but that was with one change at CDG station getting off at the ETower.

I have kept my train map if you need any more information about the stops and metro line numbers you would need to take to get you to your destination.

Alternatively, you can get one on arrival from the information kiosk at the station.

We were a bit sapprehensive doing this journey alone but the whole system is so well signposted we did it without hiccups.

Just so you know, the Mobilis is not good for transportation between CDG and Paris but the Paris Visite is. You would have to buy a standard 8 euro ticket to get into Paris if you purchase the Mobilis.

Huh? Nope, you've lost me. We will be at DLRP and wanting to go into the centre of Paris. We're not going to CDG at all. Can we use the Mobilis to get from DLRP to PAris and then around the sights and then back again to DLRP? You've confused me now!!

Hi we bought the paris visite card for 2 adults and 2 children and it got us everywhere we wanted to go in paris,am not sure about the other card people are talking about,my friend who lives in paris had recommended the visite card and we assumed it was the best value for money

I think that Morgan was just letting you know about the Mobilis restrictions, just in case you were planning to use it to or from CDG. For what you want to do, I believe the Paris Visite and the Mobilis will work for you.

Yes, Morgan is correct. It can confuse people - CDG Etoile is the name of the station by Arc de Triomphe, not to be confused with CDG Airport

When we were in Paris in March, the Moblis for zones 1-5 was 12.10 EUR. Central Paris is zone 1. DLP is in zone 5.

Versailles is in zone 4. So, one could go there from DLP using the Moblis for zones 1-5.
