I have read a few posts that mention putting bags on lockers before riding? Is this required? All bags? Fanny packs? Small over body type bags??
For the attractions listed, the lockers are free during the time you're riding but not all day. They use a fingerprint scan to lock and open. You would need to stow your stuff in the lockers before you get in line. It may sound irritating and a hassle but it's for everyone's safety. The types of rides that don't allow bags are rides that have lots of motion and there's always a possibility of something flying off and hitting another rider. Is this free? Are the keys? Before you get in line? This seems irritating and a hassle.

Hmm...this still seems very inconvenient. We often have a bottle of water and on hot days standing in line you can't have anything. I also typically check email etc. on my iPhone while waiting in lines. I am also not comfortable leaving my ID cash credit cards in some locker. I only carry a very small crossover body type small purse wallet type. I have not had issues at Disney even on Rock n roller coaster. Fanny packs are just not my style what does everybody do?
You use your finger-scan, and it's not like someone else could do that. If the locker doesn't work when you go to retrieve your stuff (we needed two lockers and my son wanted to do it...worked fine when we put things in, but didn't read his finger when we went to get stuff out), you find the locker attendant, and they will help. You will NOT be leaving the area without proving that that locker is yours. We showed the attendant pictures on my camera that showed my son from that day; she wanted an ID but I was carrying that in the lanyard, so it proved nothing. I'm sure that if I'd balked at showing them osmething, if I couldn't have described the items in the bag, if I'd tried to run, I would have met some security people in a moment or two.
