required to pay in advance?

This seems strange to me. My mom talked to WDW today about our trip in March. She was confirming our room rate and adding the dining plan and tickets. She got the impression that in order to get this 'package deal', she would have to put it all on the credit card and pay it all in advance. I think that is strange. We were planning to pay a few hundred $ in Disney Visa Rewards when we got there. Now, it will have to be paid before we can use the Rewards $??

When you book a package through WDW travel, the balance has to be paid in full 45 days prior to check-in. Only room-only ressies (those that don't include tickets and dining plans) can have the balance paid at check-in.
