This is my first post on disboards, so I'm not sure if I'm in the right area. We are renting DVC points at CCV, a 2 bedroom. We've never been there, and one of our children has spina bifida.... we are wondering what special requests we should make, we don't know what to ask for (so we are wondering about those with similar disabilities what did you ask for). I would love for us to have a view of the lake, I thought it would be nice for the family to see the fireworks and the parade from our room if possible. We picked this resort for the boat instead of depending on the bus. I'm sure in December it will be quite busy. Two of our boys were born in November and since they have never been we would like to treat them to a fun restaurant each. Any suggestions????

Since this is my first post, it won't let me respond to comments. Thank you again for any suggestions and opinions.

I’ll leave the room location requests to others, but for a fun dinner I’d recommend Hoop Dee Doo Revue https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/d...wilderness-resort/hoop-dee-doo-musical-revue/. Fun for all ages! It’s at Ft. Wilderness, and there’s a bus from Wilderness Lodge that will take y’all right there.

They might also like the Sci-Fi Dine-In or 50s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios, or Biergarten or Garden Grill in Epcot. Ask on the Restaurants forum for recommendations too.

If you want a chance at a firework view from the room you need to ask for highest floor, away from lobby, and Copper Creek Springs Pool. Since all the DVC rooms are in the wing furthest from MK it’s not possible on the side closest to MK.

Given it’s harder to get a room with firework views I’d suggest near elevator as it gets you closest for in and out and you won’t be near the hustle and bustle of the lobby (though isn’t too bad at WL as it is at other MK resorts). For fireworks walk to the geyser and you can see them there and watch the Electrical Water Pageant from Geyser Point and Grill.

It’s going to be really really hard to have a bad room view at CCV almost all look at either pool and a lot get a side view of the lake. If you want a chance of direct views of the lake I’d ask for a room that ends in 117 or 105 (this is a part of the bear face rooms) but these won’t ever have a chance of firework views.

This is the CCV specific thread and the first post has a map of all the rooms to give you an idea of the locations.

I would also consider going outside to Geyser Point to watch fireworks. They have outdoor seating. Also some spots by the boat launch. Geyser Point is a great place to get a snack or meal - it's not a full sit-down restaurant but basically looks like one.

I would ask what sort of interests your kids have and that would determine my restaurant choices. If you are thinking of easy and local, Whispering Canyon in the hotel has a fun atmosphere. Lots of antics and laughing.

There are character meals and lots of other unique experiences based on everyone's likes (and food preferences!).

If you may need mobility aids such as a shower bench or portable grab bars, housekeeping at the various WDW resorts has a few such things. Just pick up your in-room phone and punch the Housekeeping button to ask if they have anything that might help.

For more specific disabilities advice, this is the board to post on: https://www.disboards.com/forums/disabilities.20/
People there are eager to help as much as they can.

Hear! Hear! for those two November birthdays! We are the best people. 😄 Mine is the same day as Mickey's. I have a lot of fun referring to Mickey as my "twin." CMs love that.

Be sure to ask at the front desk for birthday buttons for them to wear and "I'm Celebrating" ones for the rest of the family. The birthday guys may get a free cupcake or birthday greeting card at table service restaurants when wearing their buttons. CMs will wish them a happy birthday upon spotting their buttons, and often other guests will, too.

You will have a great time, the WL is a wonderful resort. Just as an FYI, you won't be able to have a room with all the views you request, you will get at least one, but not really possible for all three. Most of the CCV rooms either have a pool view (where you can partially see the higher fireworks) or a view of Boulder Ridge and kind of a lake view (not really enough to see the water parade and no fireworks on that side of the building). If you go to TourningPlans, they have floor plans of all resorts and you can see where specific room types are located, plus many will show the view. It will give you an idea of what is available and what to request. As others have suggested, go down to Geyser Point and you can see both the ELP and the fireworks. Hoop Dee Doo and/or Whispering Canyon would be fun for dinner! The boats will take you to the Magic Kingdom only, for all other parks, it is bus transportation.

It is possible for 2 of the 3 (Firework, though only the high ones) and lake view. Rooms ending in 127, 129, and 131 on the 6th (and maybe 5th floor) would have side lake view, firework view, and pool view. Mind you though on the 6th floor those particular rooms would have a dormer type balcony so you'd have to stand to really see. So for the OP I'd suggest if you want to maximize the views all around that those rooms on the 5th floor are your best bets.

@cocoaatthelodge, it is unlikely if you get a Boulder Ridge/Boulder Cove Pool View you'd have a particularly better view of the lake, no better than the Cooper Springs Creek Pool View I suggested above. You probably won't see the EWP from it either. Though behind Geyser Point Bar there is some benches that I really suggest you utilize (and a wall) that will give you a great view and at most a 5-10 min walk from your room.

@cocoaatthelodge, to confirm you have a dedicated 2 Bedroom right? If not it changes your requests you should make a bit.

One thing I want to stress though is Copper Creek is pretty rare among DVC rooms in that there really isn't a single bad view IMO. It's either woods/pool, pool, or pool/lake combos. Even the ground floor rooms are amazing, though you don't have to worry about that since those are almost all Studios (Also ground floor at CCV is not the same as the lobby, which is floor 2)
