Requesting View at SSR?

Hi,

Do I need to request a DownTown Disney view, for SSR, before I actually arrive, or can this request be made upon arrival?

If I already have my reservation, is it too late to make the request?

Do I decrease the chances of getting the request, if I wait until I arrive?

(I am arriving at 06:30 AM, and might not be awake enough to care about a view. I will be looking for a place to take a nap

Most all the Congress Parks rooms have either a view or close view of DTD. That is all that is open right now. Some are better than others. Make your request with MS so it is on your reservation instead of waiting until you get there. We had ours on our reservation. When we checked in we could have gotten the room they had assigned to us (not ready yet and not a problem for us since we had PS at LTT for lunch about 1/2 hour later) or another room that did not have the best DTD view. We took the room that wasn't quite ready. When we got back from lunch and the expo, our room was ready so we moved into it and went back to the MK.

When all the buildings start to open up, not many of them with have DTD views. A lot of water views (lakes and ponds on the property, but not the Trumbo Canal - or whatever they call it).

When you arrive at 6:30AM your room may not be ready, so you may need to find a place to rest until it is ready.

eileen, we just got back from ssr and we did request dtd
view and highest floor and when we checked in we had a
chioce of 3 rooms. we stayed in 1735[ 2br] and we had a great
view of dtd and the 30 sec. fireworks display..............

We requested a view of DTD on the day we arrived. We arrived at 11:00am and got into our room at 1:30pm. They gave us the room we wanted. Room 2223 great view of DTD and we were right across from the quiet pool and two min. to the bus stop. We loved our location. The time you are arriving is pretty early. I would make some plans, because they won't guarentee a room when you arrive. Have a Great Trip!!

My family and I just returned form SSR and we had the downtown disney view requested on our reservation. We had 3 studios, 1105, 1301, 1432. They all had great views of DD. Our friends requested a downtown Disney view when they arrived and their request was made, too. I think you would have a better chance of getting your room request if it was already on your reservation though, especially if the resort is full.

Request early.

I requested a non-smoking, 2-bedroom, with a view of Downtown Disney when I was there in August and did not get it.

The room was great, but I like to see water.

I would make the request ahead of time. We were there the first week it was open, and only 1 building was open. We did not have a DTD view, but that was ok, we were not going to spend much time in the room looking out the window.

We actually took a walk close to midnight to see the fireworks from PI (very short, but nice) - so it was no big deal for us.
