requesting specific waiter/waitress?

We plan to eat at Crystal Palace on our next trip to Disney. Two trips ago we had a fabulous waiter who we would love to have again. Do you think it might be possible to call the restaurant a few weeks in advance and specially request to be seated in his section? Has anyone done anything similar? I'm sure all of the waiters/waitresses there are very good but this one made the trip extra special.

I have never done this but the one thing I have always found at Disney is that it never hurts to ask!!!!!

This is very common, especially in some of the more upscale resturants. But, CRO will not note this sort of request. You must call the podium directly and I would not do this too far in advance, maybe a week. Most full time servers have a set work week, most part timers are mor or less scheduled to meet demand.
If you speak to the podium/seating staff or the manager directly, they should be able to tell you if that server is scheduled.
One note, depending on your PS time, you may have to wait a little to get the server. Nobody can control how long a party stays at a table, regardless of how far in advance you try to plan.

Just a ditto to what Hakim has told you. We often request a server by name at certain restaurants (Narcoosee's, Jiko, V&A, Portobello YC) and we do it just as Hakim suggests--call the restaurant directly, but not too far in advance.
