Requesting specific row on Soarin

Hi - I absolutely LOVE soarin but I'm almost always in the bottom row. I'd love to be front row middle. Do the CMs mind when you request a specific row? We don't mind at all waiting for it. Thanks!

We've encountered a few "sighing' CMs when we do this, but most cheerfully instruct us to stand aside for a cycle and put us where we request, to the best of their ability. I'll be doing this every time we go on it from now on, because the new screen makes me nauseous when I'm on the sides.

It's hit or miss with the CMs when it comes to this. They won't tell you no, but sometimes they make it clear they aren't happy with the request.

Agree that a polite request to wait for the desired row/section will always be granted. Never noticed any "attitude" from the CM's.

I have always been more than nice to every CM I encounter at WDW. Doesn't mean I always get that back. Just saying.

I've never, ever encountered a Disney CM who has refused to allow a request to wait for a specific row on any ride at all. When our kids were very small, for example, we would regularly request the front row on PoC and IASW so they could have a better view, and were never denied. And when we ask to wait for the center section of Soarin' it has never been a problem. I suspect that all CMs have been instructed to always allow such requests.

They will never say no to a request.

I’ve only had it happen a few times that while I was being polite and smiling, I got abrupt and rude in return. In every instance, I went straight to guest services and reported it. It’s rare for us, but not unheard of.

Without fail, I start out polite and civil. I expect the same in return.

Oddly enough the only time I've had rude CM encounters is at Soarin! That's the only reason I posted in here. I've seen an occasional grumpy CM in the MK, but nothing specific to me.

During our trip I ask for the First Row once. If we go more than once I just take what I get, giving someone else the chance to ride the top row.

I’ve asked a couple of times and it’s never been a problem. They just have me wait to the side.
Agreed. We always ask for middle or top if they direct us to bottom. Never an issue. I will say we have been lucky. We almost always end up in middle so we dont say anything. Only if bottom.

The only request I ever make is back row on BTMRR. The feet and curve don’t bother me enough on Soarin to ask for anything. I figure there are plenty of people who would prefer that top row anyway.

Always request middle section and never have a problem. Most of the time you just need to wait for one group to go in front of you.

Yep. Unless you want to. There is no need to sit on bottom section. Just like you said, request middle or top. No problem.

I always request B1 is I’m not already being put into that section and have never had a problem. I’ve never had a problem, just may have to wait. If that is where you want there is no harm in asking, the worst they can do is say no.

It's always worth asking for the middle section since the attraction is so awful from either side. It's weird any CM would sigh at this considering they know how bent all the buildings etc.... are from the side.

Our first time on the new Soarin' after it was redone was all the way on the end on the right side. I had hoped that all the work that had been done would have addressed the view from the sides. Boy was I disappointed. I can't imagine anyone being happy with the view anywhere past the first few seats on either left or right sections. The curvature of the view really threw me off and ruined the ride for me.

Now I only ask to ride the middle section.
