Requesting room change after online check in

I just did the online check in. I almost wish I would have waited and just checked in at the desk. I was hoping I could request specific location. I am hoping for Kudu Trail 3rd floor at AKL. I put in the 3rd floor but couldn't put the location. I know they will assign my room and text me a room number. Can I go to the desk, when we get there, and see if they can switch my room (if it isn't by some crazy chance already there) to where I want?

Do you have this request noted on your reservation? When is your trip? If you're over five days out I would call and have them note your location preference.

But yes, once you arrive and are given your room number and don't like the location, you can always go to the desk and ask if they can move you. It's a little tough at WDW resorts because they operate at such a high occupancy rate, but it's worth asking for sure. If you do this, make sure to physically go to the front desk - don't call from the room.

I don't have it noted on my reservation. However, I will call them and make sure it's on there. My mom just gave me a gift card to put towards our trip (thanks mom!) so I will be calling them to use it. We are officially 44 days out. Not that I am counting or anything. Thank you. I would like to have the request before we get there and not waiting until the day of. Hopefully a better chance of getting it. Thank you.

:thumbsup2 Yes, I'd call and have that noted. Rooms are assigned roughly 5 days out, so you're still good. Day of can be very risky. :-)

Two years ago when we stayed at POR I received our room number via text when we landed. I was not excited because I was pregnant at the time and asked for something closer to the main building with the food court and a bus stop. I went to the front desk as soon as I got there and they were more than accommodating. They were able to move my room from the way nearly the back of the resort to much closer to the front. Had a little of a walk to the main building---but much nicer for early mornings and longer nights when DH had to carry a sleepy toddler back from the bus stop.
