Here's my delima. Last year we went to 1900 Park Fare, and although we had a fabulous time, we were at the absolute LAST table in the back room. We could hear when Cinderella, Prince Charming, and everyone else were coming out to do their little show, but couldn't see it. We are going again on our upcoming trip and was wondering if we could ask the hostess if we could be seated in the main dining room. It would be nice to be in the middle of the action!

Different place, but last year we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe and they went to seat us in the little room in the back. Not good! This was my son's requested meal and being part of the "fun" and watching everyone is the main reason he chose it. I simply explained we'd rather sit in the main dining room and I'd wait if need be. They took us right over to a table in the main room instead. So I don't see why you couldn't ask at any restraunt if you don't wanted to be seated in a quiet tucked away spot...unless of course that's your preference.

regards

If you show up 15-20 minutes early and say you want to wait for a preferred table, I think your chances would improve considerably. That doesn't mean that you would have to wait, it would just show that you would like a good table, and I think they would try to accommodate you.

We have asked for certain seating areas at diferent places like Ohana's, Coral reef 1900 Park Fare, and yes we got them. The hostess told us if we didnt mind, it might take a little longer wait time, but we didnt notice any. At 1900 yes in the main dinning room was better my daughter got picked to dance with Cinderella for the Prince was sick that day it was so awesome, and the year before that we were seated off in a corner was not nearly as much fun. Same thing with Ohanas the first year we ever went we were not seated in main dinning room my girls just wanted to keep going over there to see what was going on, so from that year forward I always ask for my request. The worst thing they can say it no, but we have been accomadated.:wizard:

1) I have yet to have an eatery refuse my seating requests.
2) Or, at least grant something close to my request.
3) In fact, you legally do not have to accept ANY table offered.
4) But, almost every eatery will change your table for you.

You don't have to accept any table, but you do have to be willing to wait until a table you want is available.

Thanks everyone! I don't want to appear to be pushy, but I certainly want a better table than last year. I absolutely would be willing to wait a bit. We'll be certain to arrive early. :goodvibes

We arrived at Coral Reef last Friday night about 30 minutes prior to our ADR. We asked the hostess if it would be okay to wait for a table by the tank. She said absolutely. We thought we'd probably have to wait a while, especially since there were quite a few other people in the waiting area. Less than 10 minutes later we were seated at a table right next to the tank, 20 minutes before our ADR time. It was wonderful!

Thanks for the info. We're going to 1900 with our girls in May and I want them to expirance the entire place. We'll arrive early and request a table in the main room. I just bought 2 of our daughters (4 and 6) Cinderella's wedding dress in the Disney Store and the baby (who will be 2 on Tuesday) the regular dress.

I don't want to appear to be pushy, but I certainly want a better table than last year. I absolutely would be willing to wait a bit.

1) I do not think getting your desired table is pushy.
2) Maybe demanding a window seat or something might qualify.
3) But, otherwise absolutely not.
4) I have eaten at some exquisite restaurants and refused to take
. . . a table near the kitchen
. . . a table near a server's station
. . . a table near or on the main walking aisle

NOTE: If I am paying for the experience, I demand the experience for which I am paying. Not demanding, just common sense. Dining is like a ballet - for full enjoyment, it should be experienced properly.
