Requesting a specific room at Pop Century

My family is headed to Disney World in 3 weeks! We will be staying at Pop Century resort and have read that would should request a specific room for our stay. Has anyone done this and/or know how to go about doing this?

Requesting a specific room is not recommended because if that room is already occupied, the room assigner doesn't know why you requested that room. It is best to state your requests like close to food court, upper floor, facing the lake, etc. This gives you the best chance of getting your request met as there are usually a bunch of rooms that will fit those requests instead of just one room.
