Requesting a specific grocery stop

Is it possible to specify which store you want to go to on a grocery stop? I want to go to Publix but I'm not sure whether FL Tours takes their customers there or not.

Could I request that from my driver?

You could always ask but I think it depends on where your resort is as to which grocery store is most convenient. They also have a pretty good idea of which stores are most crowded at certain times of day and days of the week. We use Fl Tours and TTC and it is in their best interest to keep your stop between 20-30 minutes so they can get more trips done in a day. The more trips they can do them more income they can make.

Fl Tours took us to albertsons and TTC uses albertsons and kash n karry. FWIW both were clean, reasonably priced and not crowded at all. Both drivers lent us their shopper card saving us a few $$ and just an overall nice touch.

I try and remember that this is a complimentary service they provide and have always been happy with the suggestion of the driver.

So, if your going to a resort that has a publix on the way you may get your wish. Otherwise I think they will take you to the store more convenient to your resort.

Well that sounds reasonable. I'll take things as they come. We're staying at CBR by the way .

It's an evening arrival as our flight doesn't get in until 8.20pm and that's before the whole immigration, luggage claim twice extravaganza. I hope some stores are still open by the time we need them LOL.

I'd beg to differ that this is not a complimentary service, it's a offered as part of the fee you are paying for the car service or one that is offered to compete for your business against other vendors of the same service. You are of course correct that it's in their interest to keep the stop as short and convenient as possible, but it's also in their interest to make customers happy. As such, when you make your reservation, you should ask where they will take you, and if you don't like it, you should feel free to negotiate the point. If it's non-negotiable, then you might want to find a different service. I would not want to be taken to the kash n karry, and if they told me that up-front, I would be in a better position to deal with it than when I am virtually hostage in the back of the car!

I respectfully disagree, from FL Tours FAQ's
"Yes, FL TOURS allows a complimentary 30 min grocery stop for all round trip reservations as long as a request is made at the time of the reservation. If your flight is being delayed over 30 min however, we respectfully ask you check with your driver if her/his schedule permits to accommodate you with your need."

Since the fare is the same if you use the grocery stop or not I maintain that the grocery stop is complimentary.

Louise Quicksilver Tours and transportation do a complimentary 30 min grocery stop for all round trip reservations as well. And prices start from $44.90 from OIA to WDW


I've used them and they were 1st class.

Since the fare is the same if you use the grocery stop or not I maintain that the grocery stop is complimentary.

That particular company's fare is the same, but others which do not offer the grocery stop are cheaper (I've looked into this). So I maintain that they are building the "cost" into their fare structure, hence it is not truly complimentary, but built into the price as a marketing device.
