Requesting A Regular Day Off

Hi, I'm currently doing the CP, and I was wondering if there's a way to request the same day off each week. For example, if I want Wednesdays off every week. I was looking for a way to do this on the hub, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks for the help!

It's possible that you could end up with the same days off every week (we all did at my location) but there isn't going to be a way to request it on the hub, since a cp has to have 24/7 availability basically. I guess you could request every Wednesday off individually on the hub, but your best bet is going to be talking to the person who does the scheduling in your location and hoping they're nice and willing to work things out for you.

I've been getting every Thursday off. I know most of my co-workers also have a standard day (we're generally scheduled 6 days a week)

The only way to guarantee a regular day off as a CP is to take a class and even then, it may not help you. When I did my CP, I was at DAK, so with the shorter hours, I was pretty much guaranteed to have the days off, one for my online class and one for my DU class. During "labor exception" periods, they weren't honored, but the rest of the time, I had those days off. I did know people, though, who worked at MK/DTD who only got the block of time off for the class (I think it was 4 hours?) and then were scheduled to work after that, so it will all depend on the situation.

Depends on your manager AND why you need that specific day. For me, I'll need Sundays off for religious reasons and it will be granted thanks to an official letter from BYU Idaho. But any other reasons, you do agree to full availability when you apply, so getting a consistent day off may or may not happen.

On my last program... as soon as i got used to a specific schedule they would switch it up on me...

and everytime i requested a day on the hub.... they never gave it too me even if it was a day that i usually got off... haha its almost as if they used my day off requests as suggestions for when i should be working...

one week they gave me saturday... and the next sunday as my days off... i was so pissed

My experience is the only consistent thing is inconsistency.

I agree with this. On my 1st CP I had the same days off by chance, the 2nd CP it varied every week.

Soarin08 is correct. I would talk to your manager about it if it is a real issue.

Talk to your manager...i requested to have Wednesday and THursday off every week and those were my two days off for my entire program.

Sorry but that last line is just not true...i have done the program twice and of all the people i know only one was not give consistent days off...i had the same days off all program long for both my programs....all my roommates did, all my coworkers did, and pretty much all my friends besides one person did.

This was generally true for me as well, but I wouldn't bank on having the same day off each week. I'd tend to have Mondays off (on both of my programs, actually), but my other day off would float around.

ETA: My days off, if they were to shift, usually only did so in peak times. I had a friend who always had Thursdays off; that ended up including Thanksgiving and Christmas Day for her, and she did get them both off. It's really variable on if they need spots to fill on certain days.

Yeah i had a friend who had thursday and friday off everyweek so he got thanksgiving, christmas and new years eve off....lucky ******* lol

if you are taking a class you will have more consistant days off because they schedule around your class schedule... if your not taking a class sometimes your schedule is wacky because they move you around to make up for the fact that the people taking classes cant work...

ALL of the people i knew that took classes had the same days off every week... and the rest of the people including myself not taking classes our days off were at the mercy of the managers/computers haha

Me and my friends never took classes and all had consistant days off....and we had different roles ranging from front desk, concierge, custodial, vacation planner, attractions, graveyard front desk, housekeeping...etc.

well either you got lucky or we got screwed over last semester because i went 6 months and didnt see the same day... haha

Well pretty much EVERYONE i knew had the same days off...like only one person i know had floating days off.

Seriously the only thing you can really say on the subject is that you may or may not have the same days off every week. It depends on where you work, what department, what manager does the scheduling, the different labor operations needs, anything. I know people who had the same days off every week who also took classes, people who never had the same days off every week even though they took a class (never scheduled during the class though, don't worry about that), and just everything in between. It's really not worth getting all worked up over. Just wait till you get there and if it's really important that you have a certain day off, then talk to your manager about it. Otherwise, you gave 100% availability and CPs can be to fill in gaps in shifts for full-timers so don't be surprised if your days off change. During the busy times I tended to have a Sunday or a Monday off and then not have another day off until the next Friday or Saturday. That's just the way it goes sometimes.

haha i dont want to argue with you but its absolutely not 100 percent fact... i just finished the program for the second time in august and didnt have the same day off for two consecutive weeks my entire program... Rachael has it right... its pretty much a shot in the dark what will happen with your days off... if you have a class disneydevil is right you will absolutely have 1 day off the same every week but you will have a class that day haha... if you dont have a class you may still have consistant days off but in my case and a lot of others i knew in QS this was not the case...

Anyway there is no need to fight and i am truly not lying...this just happend to me... i have no reason to come on a disney board and lie...

Enjoy your time at disney... and dont worry about your days off its very easy to get things switched around if you really must... just stay close to your managers and dont piss them off

we all have to remember there are around 7000 CPs on the property at all times... we are all going to have different experiences... and its not possible for all 7000 cps to have the same days off every week.... some people have that experience... and some people (like me) do not

haha that is DEF not the case haha if it was id be signing up to do QSFB again when i try to go for fall... I know as quick service our base pay was about a quarter more than say custodial or attractions... but no premium... i made 7.56 hr.

Now someone on here said that magic kingdom got a premium in QSFB but i wasnt quite sure of that one because my roomate worked at Pinocchio's in MK and his pay was exactly the same as mine and i worked at EPCOT sooo i feel like that might be true but i doubt it for CPs if that is the case my roomate needs to go get his money haha..
