Requested Aotearoa? Good choice

We are doing land/sea Dec 3-8th. We are staying at the Poly I requested Aotearoa. Recommended by Passporter. But of course I would rather get a water view. Should I get rid of the request and hope for some type of water view? Does anyone get waterviews without paying for them? It will be DH, myself, DD (3) and DS (8th b-day trip). Thanks, Tricia

Generally, to get a Lagoon View, it's an extra charge. If you paid for Garden View, that's probably what you'll get. The grounds of the Poly are so beautiful that you'll love it.

There are two views at the Polynesian (lagoon and garden). There are some garden view rooms that have views of the marina, pools and lagoon. Aotearoa has a view of the monorail on one side and a few garden view rooms on the lagoon side but the castle and most of the lagoon is blocked by plants. It is also farther from the pools than some of the others but it is a good location. My suggestion would be Tokelau, Samoa or Fiji. We stayed in Fiji, which is garden view, and overlooked the marina and had a great view of the Contemporary, Space Mt. and the Electric Water Pageant! It was awesome.

So, there are many garden view rooms that do overlook the lagoon from the side, just don't expect a front view of the castle.

I've never requested Aeotearoa b/c I can never remember how to pronounce it -Steph

I stayed at Aeotearoa (sp?) once and I loved it. We had a great view of the castle and it is close to the GCH. I do not know how the garden views are though. I don't think you can go wrong any place at the Poly.
