Hello,
I found a posting of cars related things through google and have been extremely impressed at the work that everyone does on here. It is wonderful!
I am a member of a small non profit group in a small town in Alberta Canada. We are a few moms who have gotten together and are starting to fundraise to build a playground for little ones (0-6) in our town, as there is not one that is appropriate and safe for them currently.
Our first fundraiser is SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 17TH. We are hosting an outdoor movie in the park. We have some raffle baskets donated. We have a concession with juice boxes, water, popcorn machine, bags of cotton candy, candies on a stick, homemade cookies (car and tire shapes), and rice krispie squares. We are also making up some picnic baskets with 4 sandwiches, 4drinks, car fruit snacks, and 2 little cookie biscuits for the adults. The picnics are going in a black plastic bucket that my fundraiser partner found at Target last weekend on a trip to Spokane.
I am asking for some help designing anything that you wonderful artists think might work for this event. Two ideas in my mind were bag toppers for the cookie bags (I have clear cellophane bags that measure 4 inches across the top), tickets to hand out to people who come, signs for concession items and raffle tickets.
My three caveats are
1. We dont have a HUGE printing budget so if you can fit a few of something on a page, all the better. And color printing sucks away money
Some color is fantastic, Lots of color everywhere probably wouldn`t be best
2. I am REALLY not fantastic with computer stuff. My husband can help. But good instructions or easy to do would be wonderfully helpful.
3. Time: I would love to have stuff printed by Monday evening to work on some things (preschool starts for me next week so on top of the event of have the traumatizing and busy experience of my first born heading off into the wide world without me
. I know that doesn't leave anyone a lot of time so I understand if no one can help, but if you can a BIG thank you!
The movie is Cars 2, the theme we went with is definitely Cars 2 but other info that might help is....
Our groups name is Didsbury Playground Society
We are building at a location called Kinsmen Park
We have a slogan we use on some things, "so 400 can play" (approx 400 kids 0-6 in our town that don't have a great place to play)
The colors on our logo (which is a little playground...I am not sure if I can figure out how to attach...) are yellow, blue red.
We have lime green shirts
We have some race car (black and white checked things)
We got a pack of 50 cardstock red paper
We will have red and black balloons, found two cars pennant banners under birthday decorating stuff.
I do scrapbook so I have a paper cutter.
I didn't read a lot of posts (I am planning this with an 18 month old and three year old running around) so I hope that I have done this correctly. You can reply on the boards, I will try to check them frequently or use my email address (mfosterx@gmail.com). I tried to include anything that might help. I apologize if it was too much information, and if anyone has questions please ask
Thank you very very much if anyone has any time to help. Any way to jazz up this event and impress people into helping us more would be much appreciated!
Maia Foster
