Repost...need suggestion regarding HIFS room location...

Which building/room #'s should I request at HIFS if I want a "lagoon" view??
Is the "pond" I see mentioned here the same as the "lagoon" that has the little lights ups at night?

If anyone has a map and could let me know about this, I would appreciate it!! Also, is it better to ask to NOT be on the first floor of this area..if I want to be in the "less traveled" area???

Mermaid, building 6 has the lagoon view (it is the same as the pond). You can also see the lagoon from building 7 as well. The odd numbered rooms would be what you want (even numbered rooms mean a pool view).

I would not recommend a 1st floor room--lots of traffic! We normally stay on the top (6th floor) and it is much quieter, although the elevators tend to be a bit slow.

Let me know if you have any questions on this hotel--I've stayed there 4 times, with the most recent being this past June.

Is the lagoon view better than the pool view? What is the best view?

I think it really depends on personal preference. I prefer the rooms with pool views, but the noise level is higher. I typically ask for a room on the top floor with a pool view, and it's usually not too bad. I can't imagine a lower floor room near the pool, though. I've stayed in buildings 7 and 8 and like the location of both (ie, short walk to the Club Car, lobby, etc.).

The other option is a view of the parking lot--it is definitely much quieter.

As for the theme rooms, we've had birds, polar bears, manatees and the Disney themed room, and all were fine--the kids will get a kick out of any of them.
