I posted this INSIDE another post but I want to post it seperately so it won't get burried....

We're trying to decide between the 7 day West coast or the repositioning. Obvioulsy the Panama Canal would be a great experience. BUT our kids are 4, 5 and 6. 14 days is a long time. Do you think we'd go stir crazy?...there are a lot of sea days too.

Would you guess there will be enough different things to do on such a long itinerary? with such yound kids?

Jess

I think alot of that depends on your children. You know them better than anyone. It WILL be very expensive with 5 of you and perhaps 7 days along with a trip to Disneyland would be better.

There will be tons to do on the ship I'm sure. Have your children cruised before. If not might be better to try the 7 day first.

Cheers,
Grumbo

I would think that the biggest issue would be the cabin. Two adults in a cabin for 7 days was just great. But I'm not sure I can imagine 5 people in one cabin for 14 days.

Now if you could get two cabins or the 2 bedroom cabin, then I'm sure 14 days on a boat wouldn't be bad.

We have cruised DCL before (2 Wonder cruises. We always get connecting staterooms.

I'm definately leaning toward the 7 day cruise, but thanks for the rplies. If we were to do the 14 day it would be a 3 wk vacation (add in DL) and we would get back 2 days before school starts. I just can't see doing that.

Jess

Jess, at least you would arrive back BEFORE school starts. In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, school starts in mid-August, (usually when the weather is close to 100 degrees.)

No, we won't be able to take this cruise.:(

We are planning on taking the 14 day cruise from FL to CA and we are taking our 13 yr old out of school to go with us. We think that the experience will be a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

We want to do this as a family memory, an experience that will be passed down for generations. I wouldn't think of doing it with out her! It is also my 24th aniversary and it will be a great way to celebrate.
