I'm just curious- I'm not being condescending. I've read a good majority of the threads & it seems that the length of the cruise combined with the days at sea is a big draw for everyone, but what are the other things drawing people to this cruise since it's seems to be SO costly?

What's the attraction of the Panama Canal?

What exactly is the 'repositioning'? I thought that it is going to CA in May '05 & then returning in Aug '05, but some of the posts are confusing me when they say "CA - Magic's new home".

Would love to hear what's drawing everyone to this particular cruise itinerary. Thank you everyone.

Well we got a price of $3500.00 bucks for 2 adults

that is for a 14 day cruise paid $2800.00 for our up coming october cruise 7 day so for about 700.00 bucks we get an extra week on the Magic ..... and we get to go thru the Panama Canal
and several other ports the magic has not been to ....

Will just be a great time...................

Since we have done the other routes we welcome the change...

We were not even considering the repositionong cruise, until we saw the rates for the 7 day west coast cruises.
It is also less than the 10 day Christmas cruise. That may not have been the case had we booked that one sooner - don't know.

This will probably be our only Disney cruise - Just seems like a better value than the 7 day summer (our other option)

Will have to check a little more closely before we commit though.

And with this I can go, then enjoy at 14 day cruise basically for the price of 7 days (I just received a quote regarding a 7 day in July) Plus the history behind the Panama Canal and then actually going thru it! Then being able to end our trip at WDW!

Now that's what I call a vacation!

We love just being on the ship, so the longer the better (to a point). Plus we are looking forward to doing something that's new and unique. We've done a 4 day and both the 7 day eastern and western. We are on the 10 day Xmas cruise, and now we are looking forward to the FL to CA repositioning cruise (this time without the kids).

The Canal just adds another level of interest to the trip.

The hype?

Wouldn't eveyone agree that 14 days of Magic is twice as good as seven?

As many are discovering, the 14 day FL-CA and CA-FL cruises are a bargain, when compared on a per diem price to the 7 day sailings. More Magic for your money....

The FL to CA reposition cruise will be sort of a maiden voyage for the Magic. Sure, she'll be 7 years old by that time, but she'll be traversing waters she's never sailed before, not to mention going through the Panama Canal! And Disney being Disney, I'm sure the arrival in LA on May 28 will be FULL of fanfare.

And if you live on the West Coast (as do I) you'll agree it's a BIG thing to have a Disney ship visit, even if only for a few months. We West Coasters don't take cruise ships for granted, since they number so few compared to those homeported in Florida, and the East Coast in general.
