Reporting live from Old Key West!

Hi All!
Thought I would post from my studio at OKW. My room is gorgeous! It's my first time at a deluxe! I am in building 18 on the first floor. I was a little disappointed, but my view is of the lake in he center and I can see the hot air balloon from Downtown Disney!
A few complaints....
1. Building 19 is under refurbishment. He bus stop is direct across from Building 19. Therefore it is awkward getting back to #18. Walk in the street, etc.
2. I am wondering if #18 is next for refurb. My headboards are dented and have big divots in them. The lights above the bed are tilted funny. Maybe it is just me.
3. Busses. I had to wait 40 minutes for a bus to Magic Kingdom this afternoon. Which was fine, I understand. However, 4 busses went by for Downtown Disney... And 2 Epcot, and Hollywood Studios busses went by as well.

Other than that, I enjoy his hotel! I wish my stay was longer.
The parks were crowded today! I saw A LOT of tour groups of teenagers..... Obnoxious teenagers! (no offense if you are a teen!)

Well off to bed! I'll post again tomorrow night and put pictures up when I get back. I had a magical moment from a cast member tonight too!

Laura, I had the same bad bus karma at Old Key West when I stayed there in July 2010! I saw at least 3-4 buses for EVERY park and the bus to Downtown Disney? It took at least 40 minutes or more to see one. After the third repeat park bus, I asked a bus driver to check on the next Downtown Disney bus for me.

I've never had that bad luck at any other resort.

Hi all!
I was too tired last night to post!
I had a great time in the Magic Kingdom yesterday. It was crowded though...
Still for to see everything with fast passes!
3 bands performed on Main Street last night. High school bands that is. It was neat! (the 2nd was my favorite!)

Anyways still disappointed with the bus service and the rehabs next door. I think it's unacceptable to be women up at 7am by hammering....
I'll try a different area the next time I rent points!

I was just at OKW last week. I was in a studio in building 62- right across the the Hospitality House. Loved the location and never had a bus problem.

Old Key West is very high on my list of favorite resorts! I hope you have more good experiences than bad. It is unfortunate you are right next to the renovation project- but overall, this is a very lovely resort!
