Sorry for the long post.
Just back from another WDW magical vacation.
Although the weather was unseasonably HOT
(mid to upper 90's Wed - Sun) we didn't let it get us down. On day one we had ressies at Hollywood & Vine Character Lunch for 11:30 in MGM. (We had never done a lunch before. This was Fabulous
- a definite doer again.) We arrived at MGM from OKW (Room 6320 - horrible - like being on the freeway) about 10:30, did RrC with a 10 minute wait then headed to our ressie. After lunch we got a FP to RrC and headed over to WWTBAM Play it (10-minute wait) then off to RrC for our FP ride. All this was done (RrC, Lunch, WWTBAM, RrC) between 10:30 - 1:00, light crowds on Thursday.
Hopped over to AK to try out the new Primeval Coaster. Went straight through DinoLand (without the crowds on the bridge into DinoLand) and went right up, about a 5 minute wait. DW & DD loved the ride that we went right back on (again about a 5-minute wait) I, on the other hand didn't really care for the jerking and spinning and turning so much, but I would do it again on the next trip (only once). Then off to TtBaB - about 5 minutes and after that it was about time for the JJ Parade (4pm). This was a really cute parade. After the parade the heat was taking its toll so we headed back to OKW for some R&R.
At about 7pm headed over to the food court in PO Riverside for a quick bite then off for a walk around the Boardwalk. (Not a lot of activity going on tonight) The breeze was light and made the walk very nice. Tried to get a closer look at the new BCV but couldn't get back there.
On Friday, headed over to Epcot to view the Flowers and try out the new AP lounge. The crowds were light when we got in (about 9:50) took a few pics then off to TT. WOW I can't believe that we were in the park about 15 - 20 minutes and the wait was already 45 minutes. (It seemed that of about a few thousand people in the park that morning and they were all in line for TT). We got a FP and headed over to Innoventions until our FP time. After TT it was time to head over to take our annual pics and send emails in Imagination then off to see the AP lounge. VERY NICE and relaxing. Of the 8 - 10 people in there, my DD was the only child and she got the full Character treatment - Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale. After about 30 minutes it was time for a light lunch in the Land then off to see the BCVs.
NOT.
Through the IG and over the bridge, we asked a CM if we could go down the side of the BC and he said yes, follow me. We ended up near the BCV but they had the walkway blocked off. A Maid saw our confusion and guided us through the Maid entrance that lead to a hallway leading to the Main Lobby to the BC. We found ourselves at the DVC desk and the CM said that NO ONE (not even her) was allowed in the BCV that we could go to the BW and view a model room. I said thanks, but no thanks we wanted to go in the building and look around. So we took what seem like forever to get back to the OKW bus stop at Epcot because the heat again was taking its toll on us.
At about 6pm we headed over to DtD to eat at the Rainforest Café' (put my name in at 6:35 and was called to be seated at 8:30) but we didn't wait the 2 hours we SHOPPED TIL WE DROPPED. We dropped our Treasures (stuff) at the car and waited for our call.
On Saturday, we headed over to the MK (about 9:15am) again light crowds, that we were able to do SM, Buzz, SM, Pooh, Snow White, Small World, PP Flight, HM then it was time for relaxing at the 1:15 Diamond Horseshoe Review and some lunch. Because we were able to avoid the heat, after lunch we visited the Hall of Presidents then waited in line (our longest all trip) at Thunder Mountain (about 30 minutes). By this time it was about 3:30pm and we were ready again for some R&R. (MK staying open until 10:30 tonight)
We had a FP for Splash Mountain for 5:35 - 6:35 so I asked a CM if I could trade my current FP for a later time and he gave me the current time of 7:15 - 8:15 (Making Magic).
At about 6:30pm headed back to MK for night activity. We did Pirates (on the left side - no wait walked right on while the right side had a line) and our FP for Splash Mountain. Took RR from Frontier to Mickeys Toon Town and walked over to Tomorrowland for a ride on SM (about 30 minutes) then the TTA (waited about 20 minutes - they had some cleaning up to do), About 9:15 got a spot on the bridge for Tinker Bells flight, got a bite to eat at Plaza Pavilion and took it over to Frontier Land to eat, relax and people watch before the perfect ending to the day, the 10:30 Spectromagic Parade.
The month of May is a Fabulous time to go but the heat was unseasonable we were told. Had a great time and counting the week's (22) until our next trip 10/2002 BCV and MNSSHP.
